Lash mapping is a methodical approach that allows lash artists to strategically plan the placement of lash extensions based on their client's eye shape, natural lashes, and desired outcomes. By tailoring the lash look to each client, you can accentuate their unique features and create a stunning, natural-looking result. If you've been looking for a new way to make your client's eyes pop, open eye lashes are the style you've been waiting for. This style accentuates the center of the eye by adding volume and length in the middle of the eyelid, tapering down at each end to create symmetrical graduation. Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Silicone Extra Sensitive Tape and Lashes are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   It's no secret that an open eye lash extension can make your eyes look bigger and more awake, but this style also adds depth to your gaze with its asymmetrical shape. With this lash style, you're not just getting more length—you're getting it in exactly the right place to give your eyes a youthful and fresh appearance without any extra effort! Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   As a lash artist, it is a perfect way to create a more dramatic look for your clients who prefer a bolder look for makeup! Open eye lashes are perfect for making a statement at any event—they'll turn heads wherever you go! But if you want something even more striking, try wet look lashes instead. This resembles how the eyelash extensions will appear once wet, as if your client had just gotten out of the shower or the beach.   Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   This style is great because it adds volume and length to your client's lashes without leaving them looking overly heavy or clumpy. It also mimics how the lashes will look once wet—just like you've gotten out of the shower or after swimming! It also works well with clients who have more mature eyes and want to add some definition without going overboard. If you're clients looking for a more natural look that still packs a punch, this is the style for them!  It's perfect for those who want to add volume without worrying about clumping or making a statement. With this style, you can enjoy the fullness of lashes without worrying about them getting in your way.   Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   To learn more about wet look lashes, check out this blog!   Here's our guide on how to choose the right lash size and curl for your open eye lashes: PRO TIP: 7-13mm is the most common size for this lash style in CC curl. If this is your first time creating this look, we recommend starting here!   Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.    HOW TO ACHIEVE THE WET EYELASH LOOK: TECHNIQUE #1 To start, you can use flower cups or adhesive rings. Another option is to use 0.03 lashes, which are lighter than classic lashes. Avoid using classic lashes if you want to create a wet effect. Grab some lashes using your curved tweezer or your preferred tweezer shape. Make sure you have a good-grip tweezer for better control. For the wet lash effect, you'll need a couple of lashes. You can choose to make them thick or light, depending on your preference. On the other hand, some lash artists prefer a very light look without creating a fan effect. You can make the lashes appear spikey or similar to a classic lash base. To create spikes, place the lash base in the flower cup and slide it through. Just pull the lashes out and slide them into the flower cup. It's as simple as that. Hydrogel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, Velour Lash Adhesive, Lashes and Lash Wisps are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Here's a tip: Pinch the lash with your tweezer to ensure that the ends are securely stuck together.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.    HOW TO ACHIEVE THE WET EYELASH LOOK: TECHNIQUE #2 If you want to achieve a wet eyelash look, there's a second technique you can try. You'll need a glue aid for this method, which helps speed up the drying time of lash adhesives that aren't curing properly due to low humidity. It's a handy tool to have if your lash bond takes too long to dry and you want to speed things up. When working in high humidity environments, you won't need a glue aid because the adhesives will naturally dry faster due to the moisture in the air. Using a glue aid can help resolve any temperature and humidity issues you might have in your lash room.   To create the wet look, apply the glue aid to the lash base and run it through the lashes.  Lashes and Lash Adhesive Cure Aid are used here. To shop, please click here.   Use a small micro swab to gently wipe the entire lash line, making it slightly wet. Then, take your tweezers and carefully pull at the areas where there are small indentations. It's like there's a tiny crack where you can grab and pull. Lashes and Lash Adhesive Cure Aid are used here. To shop, please click here.   Next, place the lash on top of a flower cup. Dip it in adhesive and slide it through the cup, as if you're crystallizing it. The adhesive will harden, maintaining its shape. When you're ready to apply it to the natural lashes, dip it in a small amount of glue and place it, ensuring it stays in place. Lashes, Lash Adhesive Cure Aid and Precision Volume 90 Degree Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   Remember to achieve a classic lash look and don't be afraid to add more lashes if you prefer a fuller lash style. Some lash artists worry that thicker lashes might look unnatural or dramatic, but it's a matter of personal preference. Experiment with this technique and find what works best for you to achieve that desired wet lash effect.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   IDEAL LASH WEIGHTS FOR WET LOOK LASHES When it comes to achieving the wet lash effect, lash weight plays a crucial role. For optimal results, lash artists often prefer using 0.05 and 0.03 lashes. Here's why these lash weights are ideal for creating the wet look: Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, and Incredible Retention Primer are are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   0.05 Lashes 0.05 lashes are slightly thicker than average lash extensions. Perfect for adding volume and drama to lashes. They provide a noticeable impact, adding depth and fullness while still maintaining a natural look. With their slightly heavier weight, 0.05 lashes contribute to a wet look, creating a lustrous and intensified effect.   0.03 Lashes For a delicate and subtle wet lash effect, lash artists often choose 0.03 lashes. These lashes are extremely lightweight, creating a wispy and feathery look. The thinner diameter of 0.03 lashes provides a softer, more natural appearance. They help achieve the wet lash look while maintaining a fluttery, natural effect. Ideal for elevating any lash style with a stunning, airy finish.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.    CONCLUSION Many different lash extension styles exist, including open eye wet lash style. So, whether your client is looking for a more natural look or something more dramatic and bold, there's an option out there that will fit your client's needs. There's no denying it: lash extensions are here to stay. They're not just for celebrities anymore! It's important to remember that the lash client is always right. As a lash artist, it's your job to listen and provide them with exactly what they want, so they will continue coming back to you repeatedly!     Want to Master Lash Mapping? Wispy Lashes Vs Anime Lashes: Which One Is Better?

by Michelle Rebay on Mar 26 2023
Lashes are the new makeup. You've got contouring, highlighter, and now… eyelash extensions? Yep. Lash artists are in higher demand than ever—for a good reason! There are so many kinds of lash styles out there right now that it can be hard to know what type to suggest to your clients. When it comes to lash extensions, you know your clients want something that will make them stand out. They want to look like a Kardashian or have wispy lashes, or maybe even an anime character so that you can offer them anime lashes—but how do you achieve these without sacrificing the health of your client's natural lashes? For Wispy Lash Set - Ultra Crystal Bond, Lashes, Lash Wisps, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder used in this set. To shop, please click here. For Anime Lash Set - Wet Volume Lashes, Bullet Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Ready to learn Anime Lashes? Sign up for the course and get insights from a lash artist who knows exactly what works.   The debate has been going on for years, but who's right? Is there a correct answer? Let's take a look at the two options and see what they have to offer. You might be surprised to learn that these styles are very different, despite their similar appearance.  Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Super Bonder, Mini Lash Mirror, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   WISPY LASHES Wispy lashes are all about creating a naturally dramatic look. They're like your regular lashes but with a bit of an edge. The key feature of wispy lashes is how they mix different lengths, giving a feathery, fluttery appearance.  Think of them as a mix of short and long lashes, placed in a way that looks natural yet noticeable. Ultra Crystal Bond, Lashes, Lash Wisps, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder used in this set. To shop, please click here.   These lashes are great for clients who want something special but still want to keep things on the subtle side. They add volume and length without going overboard. It's a style that works well for everyday wear or for special occasions where you want to look glamorous without being too flashy. Promade Fans, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   So if you're ready to plunge into wispy lashes (or if this is something new for your clients), check out this blog!   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   ANIME LASHES Anime lashes, also known as Manga lashes, are a bolder choice. They're named after the dramatic lashes often seen in Japanese anime characters. The main feature of anime lashes is the spikey, individual lash strands. These spikes stand out among shorter lashes, creating a distinct, bold look. Unlike wispy lashes, anime lashes have more obvious spikes. They create a statement and are perfect for those who love a dramatic, stand-out look. They're not as natural as wispy lashes, but that's the point – they're meant to be noticed. Volume Lashes, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   This is one lash map for an anime set, it simply involves building spikes that are longer and anchoring them with shorter spikes on the side. For example, the longest spike is 10 mm in the inner corners. It is anchored by 2 9 mm spikes on the sides and the 9 mm spikes are anchored with the 8 mm spikes. This creates really intense spikes that are more visible. Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The main central spike is always supported by at least 4 supportive spikes to make a chunky pyramid. Lash direction is incredibly important when working with anime lashes since the spikes all have a place. The spikes are typically more spaced apart, and there are less of them than in a traditional wispy set, for example, there are 5 spikes in this set, but they are larger and more pronounced. Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Super Bonder, Mini Lash Mirror, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Did you know? The brown anime lash set is a fresh and increasingly popular choice among anime lash styles. Dark Chocolate Color Lashes, Chocolate Charm Bond, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Step-by-step Anime Lashes guidance in our  course. Wispy lashes are a popular style that can give a fluttery, natural, yet glamorous look. They're not one-size-fits-all, though. Here's who can really rock this style: Promade Fans, Neon Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Wispy lashes flatter all eye shapes, making them an ideal choice for everyone.  Wispy eyelash extensions are popular among clients with monolid, hooded, and almond-shaped eyes because they can create a perfect, wide-eyed look for all occasions.  Wispy lashes are also great if your client wants thick, noticeable eyelashes that will give them confidence. You might not think that thick lashes are always flattering, but trust us—this style will make anyone feel like a bombshell! You get the perfect combination of natural and dramatic. Wispy lashes are an excellent option for those who want to go from minimal to maxi-dramatic in just a single appointment. They're also great for people with sparse lashes that need TLC! You can also customize your wispy lash styles, so if your client wants a natural look or something more dramatic, you can give them exactly what they want.   WHO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR WISPY LASHES? Wispy lashes, while versatile, are not for everyone. Here are some considerations: Velour Lash Adhesive, Promade Fans and Lash Wisps used in this set. To shop, please click here.   If your clients natural lashes are fragile or thin, wispy extensions might be too heavy or look unnatural. If your client have chronic dry eyes, blepharitis, or other eye conditions, it's best to avoid any lash extensions, including wispy styles. Wispy lashes require regular fills and proper home care. If you're not up for this commitment, another style might be better. If your client is frequently swimming, sweating, or rubbing your eyes due to sports or other activities, wispy lashes may not last as long and could be impractical. Always do a patch test first. If your client have a history of reactions to adhesives or extension materials, steer clear of any lash extensions.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHO IS SUITABLE FOR ANIME LASHES? Are you looking for a way to make your client's eyes look more open, larger, and more beautiful? Are you interested in adding some extra drama to your client's everyday looks? If so, then anime lashes are perfect for them!  Wet Volume Lashes, Bullet Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Anime lashes are ideal for those who want to make their eyes appear larger and more open.  They can also help to give the appearance of having longer lashes. If your client has very sparse lashes, then anime lashes will give them that extra boost of volume without being too dramatic—like if they wanted something more subtle than eyelash extensions. Still, they wanted some length on their natural lashes. They're perfect for those with narrow or almond-shaped eyes, but keep that from stopping your client from trying them out if there aren't! They're also great for people who love big, bold makeup looks.   WHO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ANIME LASHES? Anime lashes are the talk of the town in the beauty world, known for their bold and dramatic flair. However, they're not a one-size-fits-all solution. In this post, we'll explore the reasons why anime lashes might not be the best choice for everyone and who should consider alternative lash styles. Mega Lash Box, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   If the natural lashes are weak or damaged, anime lashes might be too heavy and could cause further harm. If your client prefer a more natural or minimalist look, anime lashes might be too dramatic for their taste. People with very sensitive eyes or allergies might find anime lashes uncomfortable due to their size and the glue used. If your client is new to wearing lashes, starting with something less dramatic might be better to get used to the feeling. For those who want a lash style that fits daily wear, anime lashes may be too bold for regular, casual settings.     For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   SO, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANIME LASHES AND WISPY LASHES? Let's talk about the main differences between wispy lashes and anime lashes: For Wispy Lash Set - Volume Lashes, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here. For Anime Lash Set - Wet Volume Lashes, Bullet Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. These extensions are usually longer, thicker, and more dramatic than typical eyelash extensions. They often involve a mix of lengths and curls to create a wide-eyed, impactful look. Wet Volume Lashes, Bullet Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Anime lashes also emphasize the lower lash line, giving the eyes an exaggerated doll-eye appearance similar to that of female anime and manga characters. This lash style is a fun way to create a dramatic look without overdoing it. Wet Volume Lashes, Bullet Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The technique involving individual lashes was where the trend started on TikTok, but it quickly caught the beauty industry's attention and developed into lash extensions.  One of the most popular anime lash styles is the brown anime lash set. Dark Chocolate Color Lashes, Chocolate Charm Bond, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. But you don't need to be a master artist to start creating beautiful, eye-catching sets. Here’s a straightforward rundown of the three types of spikes you can use to give your clients that anime look! Lash Wisps, Volume Lashes and Wet Volume Lashes are used here. To shop, please click here.   LASH WISPS First off, lash wisps are a godsend for beginners. They’re very easy to use – you apply them just like classic lashes. No special skills or techniques are required. Just pick them up, dip in adhesive, and place them where you want that extra bit of length and volume.  Lash Wisps, Volume Lashes, Wet Volume Lashes, and Oblong Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   LOOSE VOLUME LASHES When it comes to loose volume lashes, it’s all about the thickness. Skip the ultra-thin 0.03s – they’ll give you fluff but not the definition you want for spikes. Stick with 0.05 or 0.07 diameters for that sweet spot between boldness and manageability.  Just remember, if you’re using them for spikes, glue aid will make them stick but won’t keep them spiky after a brush-through. They’ll blend more into a fluffy look than stand out as distinct spikes. Lash Wisps, Volume Lashes, Wet Volume Lashes, and Oblong Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   BONDED TIPS/WET LASHES Finally, there are lashes that are pre-bonded at the tips, often referred to as wet lashes because of their sleek appearance. These are great for a fuller, textured look but tread lightly – it’s easy to get carried away. The key is to not overload your client’s natural lashes. You want each spike to stand out without weighing down the natural lash line. Balance is everything; you want the drama without the droop. Lash Wisps, Volume Lashes, Wet Volume Lashes, and Oblong Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   LASH MAP FOR ANIME LASHES Lash mapping #1 This is one lash map for an anime set, it simply involves building spikes that are longer and anchoring them with shorter spikes on the side. Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Lash Tape, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Super Bonder, Mini Lash Mirror, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Lash mapping #2 This particular lash map indicates a variety of lengths, starting from 7mm in the inner corners and graduating to 13mm in the center, which will likely give a dramatic and open look, true to anime style. Hydrogel Under Eye Patches and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   In anime lashes, you can create your own lash wisps or wet lashes. Wet Volume Lashes, Bullet Lash Adhesive, Straight Isolation Lash Tweezer, Large Tip Boot Lash Tweezer and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   A distinctive feature of anime lash styling, setting it apart from other styles like the wispy, is the emphasis on the lower lashes. Wet Volume Lashes, Bullet Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   ANIME LASHES ARE SUITABLE FOR: Narrow-shaped eyes: Perfect for clients with narrow eyes as they can help widen and enhance their eye shape. Larger, more voluminous lashes: Great for clients who want longer lashes without the wait—anime lashes add instant volume and length. Achieving a dramatic look: Popular in anime and manga culture, these lashes help create the bold, dramatic look associated with these characters. Any eye shape: Don’t worry if your client doesn’t have narrow or almond-shaped eyes—anime lashes work for anyone who wants to enhance their eye shape with ease. Volume Lashes, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   ANIME LASHES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR: Clients with large, round eyes: The dramatic effect of anime lashes may make their eyes look overly wide or startled, rather than seductive. Clients with close-set eyes: Anime lashes can exaggerate the closeness of their eyes, making them appear more cramped. Clients who prefer a more natural look: Anime lashes can make eyes appear larger than they are, which may not be desirable for some clients. Mega Lash Box, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO GET ANIME EYELASHES? Anime lashes are the hottest thing right now, and we're here to help you get on the trend. Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Lash Tape, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Super Bonder, Mini Lash Mirror, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   If you've seen those pictures of anime characters with huge eyes and super-spiky lashes, then you know how different they look from anything else. And it's not just their eyes that make them unique— their lashes, too. The secret to creating these iconic anime eyelashes is all in the technique. Although the top and bottom lash lines are typically where anime lash extensions are put, this can be changed to best suit the client's eye shape. Mega Lash Box, Velour Lash Adhesive, Lash Tape, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Incredible Retention Primer, Straight Isolation Tweezer, and Large Tip Boot Lash Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   EASY ANIME-INSPIRED TRICKS TO MASTER When it comes to achieving those captivating anime-inspired lashes, it's time to break free from the confines of traditional rules. Let's dive into some innovative techniques that will take your lash game to the next level!   Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Embrace a New Perspective Focus on the longest spike in each chunk of anime lashes. Apply the 90-degree rule to this central spike. Arrange shorter spikes to point towards the longest one. This creates depth and highlights the main spike in your lash design.   Embrace Versatility Use varied lash lengths for a natural triangle shape, like in anime. Aim for thin tips for delicate lashes. Ensure a dense base for volume.   Dare to Go Lower Change your viewpoint: Try something new with your lash techniques. Shorten the base: Reduce the base spike lengths by 4-5mm. Small change, big impact: Even a little adjustment can greatly enhance the anime lash style. No exact lengths? No problem: Use various curls, like cc for chunks and c for the base, for a standout effect.   With these insider tips in your arsenal, it's time to unleash your creativity and embark on your journey to becoming an anime lash master. Embrace the freedom to break the rules, explore new techniques, and let your lashes tell a story of their own. Anime lashes have gained popularity for their unique and eye-catching style. If you have a client considering getting anime lash extensions, it's essential to understand their lifespan and maintenance requirements.  Let's explore how long anime lashes typically last, taking into account both the upper and lower lash lines. Promade Organized Fans, Lash Wisps, Bullet Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The Duration of Upper Lash Line Extensions: Similar to other styles of lash extensions, the upper lash line for anime lashes can last for around 4 to 6 weeks. However, it's important to note that this duration can vary based on individual factors such as the growth cycle of your natural lashes and client's aftercare routine. Proper care, including regular cleansing, avoiding excessive rubbing, and refraining from using oil-based products, can contribute to prolonging their lifespan.   The Lifespan of Lower Lash Line Extensions: In contrast to the upper lash line extensions, the lower lash line extensions for anime lashes have a shorter duration. Typically, they last for approximately 14 days (depending). The lower lashes tend to be thinner, shorter, and more delicate, making them more prone to falling out sooner. Therefore, it's crucial to be mindful of this shorter lifespan and consider the maintenance required for the lower lash line extensions.   Factors Affecting Lash Extension Longevity: Several factors can impact the overall lifespan of anime lashes. These include: Natural lash growth cycle: The growth cycle of the natural lashes plays a significant role in determining how long the lash extensions will last. As the natural lashes shed, the attached extensions will naturally fall out with them. Aftercare routine: Following proper aftercare instructions is essential to maintain the longevity of the anime lash extensions. This includes gentle cleansing, avoiding excessive moisture, and refraining from using oil-based products that can weaken the adhesive bond. Individual habits: Certain habits, such as excessive rubbing of the eyes or sleeping face-down, can cause premature shedding of lash extensions. Being mindful of these habits can help extend the lifespan of the lashes.   Learn anime lashes and offer something new your clients will love—grab your spot in the course NOW!   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION Anime lashes are one of the most popular trends in the beauty industry right now, and they're also one of the easiest to achieve! Wispy Lashes Vs Hybrid Lash Extension

by Michelle Rebay on Mar 01 2023
As a lash artist, maybe you’ve seen it all. Everything from the basic everyday natural look to the most extravagant, over-the-top, "let's get ready to rumble" extensions you could imagine. But one question that always comes up is: What's the difference between wispy lashes and hybrid lash extensions? Eyelash extensions are pretty much all the rage these days, and for good reason! They're an easy way to add length and volume to your client's natural lashes, and they can make any look more awake and refreshed. But if you're new to this whole lash extension thing, you might be wondering about these two. 'Wispy' and 'hybrid' are two terms often used to describe lash styles. Promade Fans, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used for the WISPY LASH SET. To shop, please click here. YY Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive Sample, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used for the YY LASH SET. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   When it comes to lash artistry, there are many different styles and techniques used. Some are more complex than others, but one thing is for sure: each style has its own set of challenges. In this blog post, we're going to talk about 2 of the most popular lash styles!   WHAT ARE WISPY EYELASHES? If you're looking to up your eyelash game, then it's time to start thinking about wispy lash extensions. Wispy lashes are no joke—they require a variety of lashing techniques, lash types and forms, which can make it difficult for you to get the right look. But don't worry! We've got you covered. Promade Fans, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Let's break it down: Wispy lashes are described as freestyle lashing. This means that lash artists create an uneven spikey appearance with varied lash lengths that gradually rise and fall over the eyes. This is what gives most lash artists difficulty when it comes to wispy eyelash extension mapping.  Promade Fans, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Wispy lashes are bold, beautiful, and on-trend. They're a great look for the modern woman who wants to stand out from the crowd. Wispy lashes are a variation of strip lashes that create a spikey effect. The extensions are placed in a fan shape which gives the illusion of false strip lashes—but with more volume! This look uses premade or promade fans and a close fan (lash wisp/spikes - not classic lash which is opposite to hybrid set which uses classic lash) Promade Fans, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Wispy lashes are perfect for anyone looking to get some extra volume in their lash game. It's also a great option if you want your client's lashes to look dramatic but still natural (it depends if you’re client wants wispy classic lashes, wispy hybrid lashes or wispy volume classic lashes)   Love wispy lashes? Our online course will guide you step by step! Please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO APPLY WISPY LASH EXTENSIONS? It's easy, but you have to know how. Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   First, you put the spikes then you fill in between the spikes. Personally, I like to fill in the middle last because it's much easier and has easier visibility generally.  But you don't need to take my word for it! You can try this yourself with any number of clients and see what happens. Wispy lashes are great because they cater to so many different clients and make you a lot of money. But they're also hard to master without the right training—you need to practice with at least 20-30 clients before you start feeling comfortable with this lash style.   Velour Lash Adhesive, Promade Fans and Lash Wisps used in this set. To shop, please click here.   To learn more about Wispy Lashes: Tips And Tricks, please click here.   Want to know how to do The Latest Trend In Wispy Lash Extensions: Wet Look? Then click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   ARE HYBRID LASHES THE BEST? When your client wants to go big but not too big, a hybrid lash set is your best bet. Hybrid lashes are a combination of single classic lashes and volume lash fans. They're perfect for clients who have sparse or thin natural lashes. A hybrid can add some density and volume without going overboard with the volume lashes. A hybrid lash combines the volume that comes from volume lashes with the natural look of classic lashes.  This look uses premade or promade fans and a classic lash (not lash wisps/spikes which is opposite to the wispy set which uses lash wisps) OR YY lashes. YY Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive Sample, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   If your client is used to classic lash extensions, but they're not sure they want to go full-on volume, hybrid lashes are the perfect compromise. They'll get the thicker lashes they've been craving without having to commit to a full set of volume lashes right away.   YY Brown Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO APPLY HYBRID LASH EXTENSIONS? Start with the classic lashes. They'll help you make sure the spikes are evenly spread out within the set. Fill in any gaps with the premade or promade fans: these are less curly and shorter, so you can still distinctly see the spikey effect from the classic lashes. Keep doing it until you fill the entire eye. And voila! Your hybrid set will have a texture that's both spikey and voluminous! Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Velour Lash Adhesive, Short Tip Boot Lash Tweezer, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Silicone Extra Sensitive Tape, and Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.    To learn more about The Ultimate Guide To Hybrid Lash Extensions, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   DID YOU KNOW? You can use YY for a hybrid set? YY lashes are like 2D-4D volume fans, but with a bonus. They have more surface area than regular lash fans and excellent retention, so your clients can be confident that their lashes will last longer than usual. And this also means you won't spend as much time between lash fills. YY Brown Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   To learn more about YY Lashes: The Hottest Trend Now, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION So, there you have it—the difference between wispy and hybrid lashes is more than just their names. While they may have a lot in common, their applications differ, which means you can choose the style that's right for your client. If you want to make the most of your client's natural lashes with minimal effort, go with a hybrid. If you're looking for a more dramatic look that still feels natural enough to wear every day, go with wispy. Either way, we know you're client going to love the results!   We hope you've enjoyed reading this blog! If you have any questions or comments, please let us know in the comments below. The Struggles Of A Lash Artist And How To Overcome Them

by Michelle Rebay on Feb 06 2023
Being a lash artist can be immensely rewarding, but like any profession, it comes with its unique set of challenges. Whether you’re just starting out or have been in the industry for a while, overcoming these struggles can lead to personal growth and professional success. Here, I’ll share some common hurdles you might face as a lash artist and provide practical tips and real-world examples on how to tackle them effectively.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!     Struggle 1: Building a Client Base The Challenge: Starting as a lash artist often means starting from scratch with client acquisition. Building a steady client base can be daunting without referrals or a portfolio.   Overcoming the Challenge: Networking: Attend beauty industry events and engage on social media platforms. Regular posting of your work on Instagram or Facebook can attract new clients. Offer Promotions: Limited-time offers or discounts for first-time clients can be a great incentive. For example, offer a 20% discount for first-time visits or a referral discount.   Struggle 2: Time Management The Challenge: Managing appointments and ensuring each client gets the attention they deserve can be overwhelming, especially as your client list grows.   Overcoming the Challenge: Use Scheduling Software: Tools like Acuity Scheduling or Schedulicity can help manage your bookings, send appointment reminders, and even handle cancellations. Set Realistic Timings: Allocate sufficient time for each appointment, including setup and cleanup. This prevents the day from becoming overbooked and reduces stress.   Struggle 3: Keeping Up with Industry Standards The Challenge: The beauty industry is fast-paced, and keeping up with the latest trends and safety standards is crucial for your reputation and efficacy.   Overcoming the Challenge: Continuous Education: Attend workshops, webinars, and training sessions. For instance, a workshop on the latest volume lash techniques can keep your skills sharp. Certifications: Regularly update your certifications and learn about new products and methods to ensure you’re providing the best service.   Struggle 4: Dealing with Difficult Clients The Challenge: Not every client interaction is straightforward. Some clients can be indecisive, unsatisfied, or challenging to please.   Overcoming the Challenge: Clear Communication: Always conduct a thorough consultation before beginning. Understanding your client’s expectations can prevent dissatisfaction. Stay Professional: In cases of dissatisfaction, listen actively, empathize, and offer to make adjustments where possible. Always maintain professionalism.   Struggle 5: Physical Fatigue The Challenge: Lash artists often experience back and eye strain from long hours spent in detailed work.   Overcoming the Challenge: Ergonomics: Invest in a comfortable, supportive chair and good lighting. Organize your workspace so that everything you need is within easy reach. Regular Breaks: Take short breaks between clients to rest your eyes and stretch. This can reduce fatigue and prevent long-term physical issues.   Struggle 6: Maintaining a Work-Life Balance The Challenge: Balancing a busy schedule and personal life can be tricky, especially when your work may require evenings or weekends.   Overcoming the Challenge: Set Boundaries: It’s important to set specific work hours and stick to them. This helps clients know when you are available and protects your personal time. Schedule Downtime: Make sure to schedule time off for relaxation and recreation. This helps prevent burnout and keeps you motivated.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Conclusion Every profession has its struggles, and being a lash artist is no exception. However, with the right strategies and a proactive approach, these challenges can be managed effectively. By focusing on building a solid client base, managing your time wisely, keeping up with industry trends, handling difficult clients gracefully, caring for your physical health, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, you can thrive in your career as a lash artist. This is important for your comfort as well as your client's. You’ll want to be able to adjust it to avoid back pain and strain, especially when you're working for long periods.   Comfortable Cushioning Your clients will be lying on the lash bed for a while, so make sure the padding is soft yet supportive. A well-padded bed will keep your clients comfortable, helping them stay still while you apply the lashes.   Easy to Clean Hygiene is essential in any beauty business. Choose a bed made from materials like faux leather or vinyl that are easy to clean. This will help you keep your lash bed hygienic between clients.   Sturdy Frame The frame of your bed should be strong and stable. A sturdy lash bed gives your clients a sense of security and prevents any wobbling while you work.   Headrest and Armrests A good lash bed will have a headrest for your client’s comfort. Some beds even come with adjustable headrests, so you can find the perfect position. Armrests are also helpful if you want to provide extra comfort.   Portable vs. Stationary Do you plan to offer mobile lash services? If so, a portable lash bed could be a good option. If your studio is stationary, a fixed bed might be more comfortable and durable.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   How to Choose the Best Lash Bed for Your Studio Find out how to choose the best lash bed for your studio with simple tips on comfort, size, and budget. While you don’t need the most expensive bed, it's worth investing in a quality one that will last. Think about your budget and find a bed that balances both price and comfort.   Check Your Space  Before buying, measure your studio space to make sure the bed will fit comfortably. You want to have enough room to move around without feeling cramped.   Prioritize Client Comfort Comfort is key. Make sure the bed has soft, breathable fabric and enough padding to keep your clients relaxed during their appointment.   Read Reviews If you're unsure which bed to choose, read reviews from other lash artists. This can give you insight into the pros and cons of different models and help you find the best fit for your studio.   Tips for Taking Care of Your Lash Bed Learn how to properly care for your lash bed to keep it clean and in great condition.  Curved Lash Bed Mattress Topper, Velour Luxury Lash Bed Cover and Lash Bed Mattress are used here. To shop, please click here.     Once you’ve found the perfect lash bed, here are a few tips for keeping it in great condition: Clean After Every Use Wipe down the bed after each client to keep it hygienic. This is especially important when you're working with multiple clients each day.   Check the Padding Over time, the padding on your bed may start to wear down. Check it regularly and replace it if it loses its softness or support.   Keep the Frame Tight Check the bed’s frame to make sure it’s stable. Tighten any loose screws or bolts to keep it secure.   Use Covers To protect your bed, use disposable covers or washable bed sheets. This can help extend the life of your lash bed and keep it clean. 5 Tips To Perfect Your Colored Lashes Set

by Michelle Rebay on Jan 01 2023
Choosing the perfect colored lashes for your client can be challenging. Do you know why? It's because there are just so many different colors to choose from! And there are so many questions like how do you style colored eyelashes? What is the best type of lash adhesive to use with colored lashes? Colored lash extensions can be the perfect way to enhance your client's natural beauty. It's just a matter of choosing the perfect color for the right client and applying them correctly. Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   If you are a lash artist, you must know the difference between doing a good job and doing an excellent one. The main difference is that an expert would know how to set the colored lash extensions perfectly. However, if you are still new to this field, it is not easy to learn all the tips and tricks for perfecting your colored lashes set. So this article will tell you some of the most important things you should keep in mind.   FIND A COLOR LASHES THAT PERFECTLY MATCH YOUR CLIENT'S EYE COLOR As a lash artist, you must always work with clients. And while we know that you love your clients, it can take time to keep up with their ever-changing tastes. One thing that's always a constant is their eye color. The right color eyelashes will make your clients feel unique and help them to stand out in any crowd.   Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Use a colored eyelash that matches their eye color as closely as possible. Make sure you have a variety of colored lashes available. You will want a range of light to dark and natural and unnatural colors. Natural colors include black and brown, while unnatural colors include blue, green, purple, and pink.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   USE A LASH MAP TO VISUALIZE THE LOOK One of the best ways to perfect your color eyelash extension set is to use a lash mapping. A lash map is a visual representation of how you want to style your clients' lashes. It will help you visualize the final look and allow you to plan exactly when and where each step in the process needs to take place. Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   When you're a lash artist, you don't have time to waste figuring out what looks best on your client—you need to get right to work. There's no one-size-fits-all situation when it comes to eye shapes and features. You need to customize your lash extensions for each client; mapping is an excellent way to do that.   Lash map also helps you save time by allowing you to create various styles in less time than usual. If you've been lashing for a while now, mapping is essential for providing perfect lashes every time!   At first, it could seem like an extra step, but as you get used to it, lash mapping will become second nature—and it makes all the difference between average and fabulous lashes!   For a comprehensive guide to lash mapping, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   PERFECT YOUR LASH ISOLATION Isolation is the first thing you need to perfect as a lash artist. It's what makes or breaks a set and separates the pros from the amateurs. So how do you perfect your isolation? It's easier than you think. You need to practice, practice, practice!   Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Super Bonder, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Silicone Extra Sensitive Tape, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   And we have some tips for you: Take your time. Don't rush through it—take the time to focus on each lash and ensure they're all appropriately set before moving on to the next one. Be patient with yourself. If you don't get it right away, don't get frustrated! Just keep trying and practicing until it feels natural for you.   Please click here to learn more about isolation techniques for speeding up the lash application as a lash artist.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   DON'T BE AFRAID TO LAYER COLORS AND LENGTHS WITHIN A SET When mixing colors and lengths within a set, don't be afraid to experiment! There is no right or wrong way. Just make sure they look good together, and you'll be golden. Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Super Bonder, Oblong Tweezer, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For a subtle effect, use a light color on top and a dark color on the bottom. If you want a dramatic look, try layering two lengths of the same color—for example, using one long lash at the outer corner and two shorter ones in the middle. As a lash artist, you need to be able to create the perfect set of lashes for each client. That doesn't mean applying just one set of lashes repeatedly. It means using your creativity and training to create something uniquely beautiful for each person.   TIP: It's best to use clear adhesive when working with colored lashes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   DO A PATCH TEST IF NECESSARY If you're new to the lash business and are still just getting the hang of things, here's a tip: DO A PATCH TEST if necessary. But what does that mean? When you're a lash artist, you need to be careful. You're dealing with people's eyes, after all. If there's any problem with your set of lashes, your client could go blind or, at the very least, suffer severe irritation. To help prevent this, make sure you do a patch test on yourself before applying the entire set to your client. Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, and Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   You'll want to use the same brand (especially lash adhesive) and style of lashes as you plan to use on the client. You can always ask the client if they have allergies or sensitivities and adjust accordingly. A patch test is when you apply a small amount of lash adhesive behind one of the client's ears and wait for 24HRS, and if there is no reaction, you can proceed with the application. This way, if there are any reactions or irritations, they'll be easy to spot.   To learn more on how to do a patch test for lash extension, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION Now that you've learned how to do colored lash extensions, it's time to put your knowledge to use! Remember: practice makes perfect. The more you do this, the better you'll get at it, so don't be afraid to experiment and try new things. Once you've mastered colored lashes, try them on different people! If a client asks for something specific, like "bold purple" or "light pink," consider giving them what they want. But if they want something more unusual or specific, like "blue with silver glitter" or "soft pink with neon colors," feel free to bring in a new color that might not have been on their wishlist at first glance. You never know where your career as a lash artist will take you—but if there's anything we know about our client's preferences in color lashes, they're constantly changing! So get ready to roll with the punches as a lash tech and give your clients exactly what they need when they want it most!   We hope you've enjoyed reading this blog! 4 Essential Policies Every Lash Artist Should Have In Their Studio

by Michelle Rebay on Dec 26 2022

If you’re a lash artist—or thinking of becoming one—having clear policies is essential for a successful business. Policies help you run your studio smoothly and ensure that both you and your clients know what to expect. Here, we’ll go over four essential policies that every lash artist should have, plus some extra ideas to keep your studio running like a dream! Curved Lash Bed Mattress Topper, Velour Luxury Lash Bed Cover, Portable Handheld Cooling Fan, Lash Tweezer, Lashes and Magnetic Lash Tile are used here. To shop, please click here.    New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   1. Cancellation Policy Let’s face it—no-shows and last-minute cancellations can disrupt your schedule and lead to lost income. A clear cancellation policy protects your time and ensures your day goes as planned. How to Set It Up: Decide Your Timeframe: Many lash artists ask for at least 24-48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This gives you time to fill the spot if a client can’t make it. Late Cancellation Fee: Consider charging a late cancellation fee (like 50% of the service cost) if they cancel within that timeframe. No-Show Fee: If someone doesn’t show up at all, you may want to charge the full service fee.   Why This Matters: This policy protects your time, encourages clients to be respectful of your schedule, and makes your day easier to manage. Plus, when clients know the policy ahead of time, they’re more likely to stick to their appointments.   2. Late Arrival Policy Sometimes, things happen, and clients run late. But if one client is late, it can throw off your entire schedule for the day. A late arrival policy can help you stay on track. How to Set It Up: Grace Period: Decide on a grace period (for example, 10-15 minutes) where you’ll still take the client without cutting down their lash time. Reduced Appointment Time: If they’re later than the grace period, you may need to shorten their appointment to finish on time. Full Fee Requirement: Some lash artists still require clients to pay the full fee, even if they don’t get the full treatment time due to lateness.   Why This Matters: A late policy helps keep your day running smoothly, so you don’t keep other clients waiting. It also helps clients understand the importance of arriving on time to get the best results!   3. Refund and Satisfaction Policy Not every client will be 100% satisfied every time—it’s part of the beauty business. Having a refund and satisfaction policy sets clear guidelines for what clients can expect if they’re not happy with their lashes. How to Set It Up: Adjustment Period: Offer a short period (like 48-72 hours) after their appointment where clients can return for a free touch-up if they’re not satisfied. No Refunds on Services: Because time and products are invested in each appointment, many lash artists don’t offer refunds. Instead, they offer adjustments or fixes within that initial period. Clear Communication: During the consultation, be upfront about what clients can expect in terms of results, especially if they’re new to lash extensions.   Why This Matters: A satisfaction policy shows that you care about your clients’ happiness, but it also protects your time and investment. With clear guidelines, clients will understand what to expect and feel supported if they need a small adjustment.   4. Health and Hygiene Policy Health and safety are huge priorities in the lash industry. Not only is a clean environment important for the client’s safety, but it also shows your professionalism. How to Set It Up: Sanitation Standards: Explain how you sanitize tools, beds, and the studio. Mention that you follow industry standards for hygiene. Illness Policy: Ask clients to reschedule if they’re feeling sick. Some studios even waive cancellation fees if the client has symptoms to encourage staying home. Allergy Policy: Let clients know they should mention any allergies in advance, and consider offering patch tests for sensitive clients.   Why This Matters: A health and hygiene policy keeps clients safe and reassures them that you run a professional, clean studio. It also shows you’re committed to their wellbeing, which can build client trust and loyalty.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Additional Policies to Consider While the four policies above are essential, here are a few extra ideas you might want to add to make your studio even more professional: Payment Policy: Decide whether you’ll accept cash, credit, or digital payments, and let clients know if you require a deposit. Guest Policy: Many lash artists prefer not to have extra guests (like friends or children) in the studio, as it can be distracting. A guest policy can help keep your space calm and focused. Photography Policy: Lash artists often like to take “before and after” photos of their work. Let clients know if you’ll be taking pictures and ask for permission to use these on social media. This way, you’re transparent and avoid misunderstandings.   Conclusion Having these policies in place helps your lash studio run smoothly, creating a great experience for both you and your clients. Educational Content Educate your audience while showing off your expertise: Lash Aftercare Tips: Share do’s and don’ts after getting lash extensions. For example, “Top 5 Aftercare Tips for Long-Lasting Lash Extensions.” Lash Styles Explained: Write or create videos about different lash styles and their suitability for various eye shapes. Example: “Classic vs. Hybrid Lashes: Which is Right for You?” Myths About Lash Extensions: Bust common myths like “Lash extensions damage natural lashes.”   2. Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) Content People love a glimpse behind the curtain! Show how you prep for a lash appointment, clean your tools, or create a relaxing environment for your clients. Showcase a day in the life of a lash artist. Record a time-lapse video of you creating a set of lashes (with the client’s permission).   3. Client Transformations Before-and-after photos are one of the most effective ways to showcase your skills. Create a dedicated album for client transformations. Write captions explaining what lash style you used and why it suited the client. For example, “This client wanted a natural but fuller look. We chose hybrid lashes with a D curl to enhance her almond-shaped eyes.” Use Instagram Reels or TikTok for short, satisfying makeover videos.   4. Engaging FAQs Answer common client questions in fun, engaging ways: “How long do lash extensions last?” “Can I wear makeup with lash extensions?” “What’s the difference between a lash lift and extensions?” Turn these into blog posts, Instagram carousels, or Q&A stories.   5. Lash Health and Beauty Tips Provide tips related to lash health or general beauty: How to care for natural lashes between extension appointments. Skincare tips for glowing skin to complement lashes. The importance of oil-free makeup removers for lash extensions.   6. Seasonal Content Create content based on the time of year: “Holiday Lash Looks for Party Season.” “Why Summer Is the Perfect Time for Lash Extensions.” “How to Protect Your Lashes During Winter.”   7. Interactive Content Get your audience involved to boost engagement: Polls: “What lash look do you prefer: Classic or Volume?” Quizzes: “What Lash Style Matches Your Personality?” Giveaway Contests: Offer a free lash refill for sharing your post or tagging friends.   8. Success Stories Share testimonials from happy clients (with their consent): Write a blog about how lash extensions transformed a bride’s wedding look. Share direct quotes from client reviews on Instagram posts or stories.   9. Collaborations with Other Beauty Pros Partner with local beauty professionals like makeup artists or hairstylists. Create content together, such as: Tutorials combining makeup and lash extension looks. Interviews about complementary beauty services like brow shaping or facials.   10. Your Lash Artist Journey Clients love learning about the person behind the brand: Share how you became a lash artist. Discuss the challenges you’ve overcome or the milestones you’ve achieved. Showcase any training or certifications you’ve earned.   SEO Tips for Lash Artist Content To ensure your content reaches more people, optimize it for SEO: Use Keywords: Include terms like “lash artist,” “eyelash extensions,” and “lash styles.” Research long-tail keywords like “best lash extensions for hooded eyes” using tools like SEMrush or Google Keyword Planner. Write Descriptive Titles: Example: Instead of “Lash Tips,” write “10 Expert Lash Extension Tips for Beginners.” Alt Tags for Images: Add descriptive alt text to your images, such as “Classic lash extensions on almond-shaped eyes.” Local SEO: If you’re targeting a specific location, use local keywords (or hashtag if you're posting on social media) like “Lash Artist in [City Name].” Internal Links: Link to other pages on your website, like your booking page or FAQ section. Mobile-Friendly Content: Ensure your website and images load quickly on mobile devices.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.    Final Thoughts Creating engaging, valuable content as a lash artist is a powerful way to showcase your expertise, connect with clients, and grow your business. 10 Things I Wish I Knew Before Becoming A Lash Tech

by Michelle Rebay on Dec 11 2022

Becoming a lash technician can be an exciting journey filled with beauty, creativity, and personal interaction. However, like any career, there are aspects that you only learn through experience. Here are the key insights I wish I had known before diving into the world of lash artistry. Volume Lashes, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   1. The Importance of Proper Training When I started, I underestimated the importance of comprehensive training. Quality training goes beyond just learning how to apply lashes—it includes understanding eye health, lash growth cycles, and safe application practices. Investing in a reputable certification program is crucial, not just for skill development but also for building credibility and trust with clients.   2. Client Consultations Are Crucial Before applying a single lash, thorough client consultations are essential. These meetings help assess the client's lash health, discuss desired outcomes, and spot any potential allergies or contraindications. I learned that a successful outcome heavily depends on how well you understand and manage client expectations.   3. Mastering Isolation Takes Time Isolating a single natural lash for extension application is a skill that requires patience and practice. Initially, I didn’t realize how challenging this could be, especially with different lash types and eye shapes. It’s a meticulous task that is crucial for preventing damage to natural lashes and ensuring the longevity of the extensions.   4. Allergies and Reactions Are Part of the Job Even with the best practices, some clients may develop reactions to lash adhesives or under-eye pads. Early in my career, I was startled by how common this could be. Now, I make it a point to discuss potential reactions during consultations and keep hypoallergenic products on hand.   5. The Business Side is as Important as the Artistic Side Running a successful lash business isn’t just about doing lashes. Marketing, scheduling, inventory management, and customer service are equally important. Learning how to manage these aspects efficiently took time but was essential for business growth.   6. Keeping Up with Trends and Continuing Education Lash trends evolve rapidly. What was popular a year ago might not be today. Continuous education has been vital to stay relevant and competitive. Attending workshops, industry conferences, and following leading lash artists helped me keep up with new techniques and trends.   7. The Physical Toll of the Job Lash technicians often work long hours while sitting in awkward positions, which can lead to back and neck pain, eye strain, and hand fatigue. I wish I had known the importance of ergonomics in the workspace earlier, which includes investing in a good chair, proper lighting, and regular breaks to stretch.   8. Building a Loyal Clientele Takes Time Patience is key when building a client base. It didn’t happen overnight for me. Providing excellent service, maintaining professionalism, and leveraging word-of-mouth referrals gradually built my clientele. Client retention strategies, such as follow-up messages and loyalty discounts, have also been crucial.   9. Setting Realistic Financial Expectations Initially, the income can be unpredictable. It’s important to set realistic financial expectations and have a budget plan. Understanding pricing strategies, cost of supplies, and managing cash flow are critical to maintaining a stable income.   10. Work-Life Balance Lastly, maintaining a work-life balance is crucial. The flexible schedule is a perk, but it can also lead to overworking. Setting clear boundaries between work and personal time has been essential for my well-being.   Conclusion Starting as a lash tech is more than learning how to apply beautiful lashes. It involves understanding the science behind it, honing your business acumen, and continuously evolving with the industry. Knowing these things beforehand would have smoothed my path, but the journey of learning them has also been rewarding. If you’re considering this career, go into it with open eyes and a willingness to continuously learn and adapt.         We hope you've enjoyed reading this blog! The 4 Most Common Reasons For Poor Lash Retention

by Michelle Rebay on Dec 08 2022
Lash Retention can be tricky, right? It’s one of those things that can really affect how your clients feel about your work and how often they come back. I want to break down the four main reasons lash retention drops, so you know what to watch for and how to fix it. Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, Short Tip Boot Lash Tweezer, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches,  Silicone Extra Sensitive Tape and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   1. Natural Lash Cycle and Condition Every client’s natural lashes grow and shed on their own schedule. This cycle usually takes about 6 to 8 weeks. If their natural lashes are weak or damaged, the extensions won’t stick as well or stay on as long. If lashes are thin or break easily, they hold less glue Natural shedding means some extensions will fall out on their own Lashes, Colored Lashes, Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Want to learn more about the natural lash cycle? Click HERE to get the facts.   2. Application Technique No matter how good your glue is, if the application isn’t right, lashes won’t stay on. Common mistakes are using too much glue, touching the skin with glue, or not isolating a single natural lash for each extension. Make sure you isolate one natural lash at a time Use just the right amount of glue—not too much, not too little Keep glue off the eyelid and skin Hydrogel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, Mega Volume Lashes and Ultra Crystal Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Want to learn the Lash Taping Method for easy application? Click HERE to get started now.   3. Aftercare Habits How clients take care of their lashes after the appointment makes a big difference. Some don’t realize things like rubbing their eyes or using oily products can make their extensions fall off sooner. Tell clients to avoid oils or heavy makeup around their eyes Remind them not to rub or pull on their lashes Let them know to avoid steam, swimming, or sweating too much for the first couple of days Deluxe Aftercare Kit and Lash Apron are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Need simple tips on eyelash extension aftercare? Click HERE to discover what to do and what to avoid.   4. Quality of Products Cheap glue or lashes can cause problems with retention. It’s worth investing in products that work well with your environment and client’s needs. Use a glue that matches your climate (humidity and temperature) Pick lashes that feel natural and match the client’s own lashes Chocolate Charm Bond and Heart Glue Ring are used here. To shop, please click here.   Looking for tips on choosing quality lash products? Click HERE for the full guide.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   What Affects Lash Retention Between Fills? Retention doesn’t just depend on your work in the chair. Here’s what else can change how well lashes hold between appointments: The client’s skin type — oily skin can break down glue faster Weather and environment — humidity and heat matter Client habits — sleeping on their face, makeup, or touching lashes a lot How often they come back for fills — waiting too long means more natural lashes shed Lashes, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   How To Improve Lash Retention As A Client It helps when clients know what to do to keep their lashes on. Here’s what you can share with them: Keep lashes clean but avoid oils or heavy creams near the eyes Be gentle — no rubbing or pulling Skip waterproof mascara or heavy eye makeup Use a lash-safe cleanser and a soft brush to clean gently Avoid hot steam, saunas, and swimming for 24 to 48 hours after the appointment Lashes, Glittery Lash Extensions, Color Lashes, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   How To Master Lash Retention To get retention right, you need to focus on these things: Nail your isolation and how you apply each lash Use the right glue and lashes for your area and clients Teach clients how to care for their lashes Book fills regularly, not too far apart Keep track of how retention goes and make changes if needed Getting good at retention means your clients are happy and keep coming back. Lashes, Velour Adhesive, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Large Tip Boot Lash Tweezer, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Understanding Porosity for Better Lash Retention: Low vs. High As a lash artist, keeping your clients happy means helping their lash extensions stay put. One factor that’s often missed but really matters is porosity — how well the natural lashes absorb and hold the glue. Here’s a simple guide to understanding porosity and how it affects your lash work. What Is Porosity and Why Does It Matter? Porosity refers to how open or closed the lash cuticle is. The cuticle is the outer layer of the natural lash shaft. A slightly open cuticle helps the glue stick better. Closed cuticles make it hard for glue to bond strongly. Glue alone won’t fix retention problems if porosity isn’t addressed.   How to Handle Low Porosity Lashes Use a primer with a higher pH than natural lashes to open cuticles gently. This raises porosity and lets glue penetrate better. Priming also removes oils and debris that block glue. Creates a clean surface for better lash retention.   Why Proper Priming Is Essential Prepares the natural lash for glue application. Helps open cuticles on low porosity lashes for stronger bonds. Removes oils and buildup that stop glue from sticking. Leads to longer retention and happier clients.   Quick Tips for Lash Artists Always assess lash porosity before starting. Use high pH primers on low porosity lashes. Don’t skip primer on low porosity clients. For high porosity lashes, clean well but no special primer needed. Remember, good retention starts with understanding porosity!   Tired of battling lash retention problems? You’re not alone – and we’ve got the perfect solution. Here are some ideas:   1. Master Advanced Lash Techniques One of the most straightforward ways to increase your earnings is by expanding your service offerings. Here's how: Learn New Styles: From volume and hybrid lashes to mega volume, offering a variety of lash styles can cater to a broader client base and command higher prices. Attend Workshops: Regularly update your skills through workshops and certification courses. This not only keeps you competitive but also allows you to offer the latest trends in lash technology.   2. Upsell Additional Services Increase your average transaction size by offering related beauty treatments: Lash Lifts and Tints: These are popular services that clients often seek in addition to extensions. Brow Services: Offering brow shaping, tinting, or microblading can attract clients looking for a complete eye makeover.   3. Implement a Referral Program Word-of-mouth is incredibly powerful in the beauty industry. Encourage it by: Creating a Referral Program: Offer your existing clients a discount or free service for referring new customers. This can rapidly expand your clientele.   4. Maximize Booking Efficiency Efficient booking can lead to more appointments per day: Online Booking System: Use a reliable scheduling software that allows clients to book their appointments online, reducing your administrative tasks and minimizing no-shows through automated reminders.   5. Focus on Retention It's cheaper to keep a client than to find a new one. Increase client retention by: Membership or Loyalty Programs: Offer discounted packages for clients who book multiple sessions in advance. This ensures repeat visits and stable income. Exceptional Client Experience: Ensure every client feels valued. Comfortable treatment beds, a welcoming studio environment, and personalized attention can make a big difference.   6. Sell Retail Products Selling after-care products not only boosts your income but also enhances client satisfaction with their lash extensions: After-Care Kits: Include items like lash cleanser, mascara for extensions, and lash serum. Educate clients on the importance of after-care to maintain their lash health.   7. Leverage Social Media Marketing Social media is a powerful tool to attract new clients: Before and After Photos: Showcase the transformation provided by your services. Engage with Your Audience: Regularly post tips, promotions, and behind-the-scenes content to keep your followers engaged and informed.   8. Host Workshops or Classes Share your expertise and passion: Lash Application Classes: Teach basic techniques to beginners or advanced techniques to fellow professionals, providing another stream of income. Care Workshops for Clients: Educate clients on how to maintain their lashes, which can also drive product sales.   9. Optimize Pricing Strategy Ensure your pricing reflects your skills, location, and the quality of your materials: Market Research: Regularly check what your competitors charge and ensure your pricing is aligned with the market while reflecting the premium nature of your services.   10. Expand to Mobile Services Offering mobile lash services can tap into a market of clients who prefer treatments at home or in their office: Mobile Lash Tech: This can be particularly popular for weddings, parties, or corporate events where multiple clients are already gathered.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   How Profitable is Doing Lashes? by Michelle Rebay on Dec 08 2022
If you're a lash artist, we know what you're thinking: "I've seen it all." We get it. You probably think you've seen every eyelash extension trend there is to see. But we have one that's going to blow your mind.  If you're looking for a new lash style, we've got a suggestion: YY Lashes. When it comes to lash extensions, there's a lot of variety. You've got classic lashes, volume lashes, premade fans, promade fans, and now YY lashes! YY Lashes, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Ultra Thin Micro Foam Under Eye Patches, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   This is the option to go if you want to stay ahead of the curve and offer something new and exciting to your clients. So, let's get started! YY Brown Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   WHAT IS YY EYELASH? YY lashes have a split at the base, so you get the fullness of volume but applied the same as classic. They are also like 2D-4D volume fans but with additional benefits: Disposable Glue Cup, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond and YY Volume Lashes are used here. To shop, please click here.   They have more surface area than traditional fans and amazing retention. Your clients can be confident that their lashes will last longer than usual. And this also means you won't spend as much time between lash fills trying to get your client's lashes back into shape!  YY Brown Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.           The best part? Since these fans are on a strip instead of individually made, you'll get much more for your money than you would if you were buying individual fans (so it's less expensive). YY Lashes, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Ultra Thin Micro Foam Under Eye Patches, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here. HOW DO YOU GRAB YY LASHES? Between the extension's top and bottom, in the middle, grab the YY lashes. To keep the YY lash intact, it's essential to hold the extension just as the base divides into the YY, which is roughly halfway up the extension. Then, apply the extension as you would a classic. YY Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Ultra Thin Micro Foam Under Eye Patches, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   YY lashes are applied just like classic lash applications but with a twist. The YY lashes provide a hybrid/volume effect, creating a fuller and fluffier lash set. YY Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive Sample, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   TYPES OF YY LASHES Lash extensions are one of the most popular beauty treatments today, with good reason: they're beautiful! What if there was something even better than volume or classic? Something that would have everyone asking where you got your lashes done? Well, now there are YY Lashes! But the exciting part? They come in different colors to choose from! YY Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Enjoy the best of both worlds. YY Lashes are a hybrid lash — they mimic the classic look with all the benefits of volume. But with the safer application of a classic lash. 0.05 YY Volume Lashes Single Length   No need to sacrifice length and fullness when you want volume. YY lashes can make up for the gap in your lash line and add more density to thin natural lashes. They have less weight and flexibility while still delivering an incredible amount of volume. 0.05 YY Volume Color Lashes Mix Length   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION If you want the perfect balance of volume and length, try the YY lash. This lash is ideal for clients with thin natural lashes and those who want to add more fullness. The result is flawless voluminous, yet subtly natural looking. It's all in one lash!  And remember: no matter what look you're going for, at the end of the day, YY Lashes are "Epic." Color Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   There are things you didn't know about colored eyelashes that can help you create a one-of-a-kind look! This guide shares some of the most popular things you didn't know about that every lash artist should know!   #1  COLORED LASH EXTENSIONS DON’T JUST COME IN BLACK AND BROWN Some clients love the look of black and brown color lashes, but what if they want something more exciting? There are many different colors to choose from these days—and they aren’t just limited to shades of pink or purple. You can have green and light brown ones too! Color Lashes, Pro-made Fans, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   They can be subtle or bold, depending on your client's personal taste. Color Lashes are used here. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   #2 APPLYING COLOR LASHES IS MUCH EASIER THAN YOU THINK Applying color eyelash extensions is a lot easier than you may think! It's true that it takes practice and skill to become an expert at applying them, but once you master the basics, it becomes second nature very quickly. Neon Color Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, and Promade Fans are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   It's important to remember that when you're applying color eyelash extensions, you're essentially creating a new look for your client. That means that the process of applying them should be as personalized as possible. You want her eyelashes to look as natural and blend in seamlessly with her natural lashes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   #3 COLORED LASHES ADD A LITTLE GLAM You've seen it on Instagram, you've seen it on YouTube, and now you want to know: do colored eyelashes add a little glam? The answer is yes. Lashes, Glitter Galaxy Collection, Color Lashes, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Colored lashes are a great way to add a little pop and pizzazz to your client's look—whether they’re going for a more natural look or something more dramatic. They're also perfect for special occasions like weddings and formal events. One of the best things about color eyelash extensions is that they can be applied in any way you like.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   #4 CLASSIC LASHES CAN BE COLORED TOO As a lash artist, you know that there are plenty of different types of extensions and lashes to choose from. But did you know that classic lashes can be colored? Classic eyelashes are a staple in the world of lash extensions and are one of the most popular styles for clients who want a natural look that still packs a punch. They're versatile and look great on all eye shapes. But what if they want something more? Classic Lashes Wispy Lashes 0.15 C curl 8-15mm and Velour Lash Adhesive used in this set. To shop, please click here.   When it comes to color options, classic lashes are arguably the most under-utilized resource in your kit. We know it's hard to believe, but we're here to tell you—classic lashes can be colored!   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   #5 WHEN APPLYING COLORED LASHES, YOU MUST CONSIDER THE SIZE OF THE NATURAL LASHES You've probably heard the saying, "the bigger, the better." But when it comes to applying colored lashes, size really does matter. The reason for this is that if you use a colored lash that is too big or too small, it will look very obvious and unnatural. If it's too big, it will make your client's eyes look smaller than they actually are. If it's too small, it will make their eyes look bigger than they actually are. Promade Fans, Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   So the best thing to do when choosing a color is to find something that matches close enough without being too exact.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   #6 CLIENTS WILL STILL HAVE A FULL LOOK WITH COLORED LASHES As a lash artist, you know that your clients are going to love the added pop of color in their lashes. But what you didn't know is that they'll still have a full look with colored lash extensions. 0.07 C curl Color Lashes 7-15mm, Pro-made Fans, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The truth is that many people think that when you add color to lashes, they'll end up looking thin and sparse. But that's not the case! Colored lashes can actually help add volume to your client's existing lashes, so they don't have to worry about them being too heavy or too thick.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   #7 YOU CAN GET MULTIPLE COLORS AND LASH LENGTHS IN ONE SET Have you ever wondered how a lash artist can get so many different looks out of one set of lashes? Well, it's not just their magical powers—it's also their tools. As a lash artist, you have a lot of options when it comes to creating an eye-popping look for your clients. You can use multiple colors and lengths in one set, or even mix and match different styles. Color Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. Proven Ways To Get You More Clients As A Lash Artist And Raise Your Prices

by Michelle Rebay on Nov 14 2022
One of the most common questions that I get from lash artists is "How do I build my lash business faster to get more clients?" And "How can I raise my prices without getting a backlash?". I always give the same answer - you have to do it yourself! You know what it's like as a lash tech. You spend a lot of time prepping your workstation and yourself. You spend hours on each client, making sure they have the perfect look. And then you get paid very little in return. Promade Fans, Glittery Lash Extensions, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Today, I’m going to share with you some proven tips on how to build your lash business faster in order to get more clients and charge what you are worth.    Ready to learn how to get more clients? Awesome! Let’s get started.   THERE IS NO BETTER MARKETING THAN A HAPPY LASH CLIENT There are lots of ways to market your lash business. You could go on Instagram and post pictures of amazing lash sets, or you could make a YouTube video showing how to do a certain type of lash application. But the best way to get clients? Make sure your clients are happy. When people are happy with their lashes, they tell their friends. When they're not happy, they don't. And that's why we say: there is no better marketing than a happy lash client! Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Your clients are the only ones who will talk you up to their friends and family, and they're the only ones who can convince other people to book appointments with you. So, it's really important that you treat your clients well! You want them to feel like they've made a good choice in booking with you, and to walk away feeling that they got what they paid for.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   POST REGULARLY TO YOUR INSTAGRAM FEED AND STORIES If you want to attract more clients, you need to have a social media presence. Now, this doesn't mean that you have to be on every single platform out there. If you're a lash artist, for example, I would recommend Instagram. Posting regularly not only helps keep your followers engaged but also gives them an idea of what your studio is like. If you want clients to book appointments with you, then post regularly and consistently. This will help build trust with your potential customers and make them feel more comfortable booking with you. Lash Wisps, Promade Fans, Ultra Crystal Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder used in this set. To shop, please click here.   I know this might sound like a no-brainer but we still see many businesses that don't post regularly. Why is this? I think it's because they don't know what to post or they just don't think it's worth the effort because they don't get a lot of engagement on social media (or maybe they do). These businesses are missing out on so many opportunities to get new clients!   Instagram: Your Visual Portfolio Your potential clients are scrolling through Instagram, looking for their next lash artist. Make sure you are on their radar by: Before-and-After Photos: Showcase your skills with high-quality before-and-after pictures of your work. Ensure good lighting and consistency in photo angles. Behind-the-Scenes Content: Share videos or images of your workspace, your process, and the products you use. This humanizes your brand and builds trust. Client Testimonials: Post feedback from satisfied clients, especially those showcasing the longevity and quality of your work. Engaging Stories: Use Instagram Stories to share time-limited offers, quick client transformations, or answer FAQs via Q&A sessions. To learn more about how you get more clients on Instagram as a lash tech, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   ADDRESSING CLIENT CONCERNS AND COMPLAINTS AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN As a lash artist, you have to be able to address your client's concerns and complaints as quickly as possible. Do you know that feeling when you get a message from a client telling you that your services were subpar? It's not fun. But the worst part is that now their bad experience is hanging over your head and affecting every other client who comes through the door. The best way to handle these types of situations is to address them immediately and put measures in place to ensure it doesn't happen again. Remember to always offer top-notch customer service. Ombre Frosty Colored Lashes and Ultra Crystal Clear Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Lash Irritation: If a client reports irritation, respond empathetically, ask them to come in for a check-up, and offer a soothing aftercare product. Lash Fall-Out: If a client is concerned about lash fall-out, assure them some fall-out is normal but offer a free touch-up if it’s within your policy. Aftercare Confusion: Clients may not always follow aftercare instructions. Reiterate the importance of proper aftercare and provide clear written instructions.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   LASH REFERRAL PROGRAM Want to get more clients and raise your prices? Offer a referral discount! Clients are always looking for a good deal, and they're even more likely to spread the word if it's easier than ever to do so. So when you offer a referral discount, they're not only happy to pay less for their lashes—they'll be happy to share the news with their friends. And when their friends see how much they love their lashes, it's easy for them to make an appointment with you! Mega Volume Lashes, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Gel Under Eye Patches, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape, Lash Extension Medical Tape and Mini Lash Mirror are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Referral Discounts: Offer a 10% discount to both the existing client and the new referral for their next appointment. Loyalty Points: Implement a point system where clients can earn points for every referral, redeemable against services or products. Referral Gifts: Send a small thank-you gift, like a lash care kit, to clients who refer new customers to your business.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   OFFER NEW, EXCITING SERVICES ASIDE FROM LASH EXTENSIONS The best way to get more clients as a lash artist is to offer new, exciting services aside from lash extensions. Lash artists can start by offering lash lifting, eyebrow threading, eyebrow tinting, or brow waxing as part of their service. This will allow them to increase their clientele by attracting people who are seeking these services. Lash & Brow Lift Kit, Rainbow Lash Lift Rods, Purple Lash Lift Tool and Lash lift Ribbons are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The idea behind this is simple: when you offer something that's new or exciting and your client has never tried it before, they will probably want to try it. This will get them in the door and make them feel excited about their experience with you, which makes it more likely that they'll come back for more! To learn more about how to increase your salary as a lash artist with eyelash extension retail products, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   RAISE YOUR LASH PRICES BY 10-20 PERCENT EVERY 6 MONTHS This is a BIG one, so we wanted to make sure it's at the top of the list. If you're not raising your prices, you're losing money! Not only that, but if you keep charging the same amount over time, your clients won't know how much value they're getting for their money. And that means you'll lose clients as well. But don't panic—it doesn't have to be scary to raise your prices! It's actually pretty simple. Just pick a date six months from now and then add 10-20 percent onto whatever your current price is. Then stick with that price until six months later when it's time to raise again. Lashes, Glitter Galaxy Collection, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder and Velour Lash Adhesive used in this set. To shop, please click here.   It might seem like no one will pay more than what they're used to paying for lashes, but trust us: they will! The key is to make sure you explain how much effort goes into each lash application (and how long it takes). That way, when it comes time for them to decide whether or not they want another service with you, they'll feel like they're getting more bang for their buck! PRO TIP: It's okay to raise your prices! If you charge less than the average price, it's time to raise them. You will get more clients if you do because people want to be with the best of the best.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   BE REALISTIC ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU CHARGE AND DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHER LASH ARTISTS As a lash artist, you have to be realistic about how much you charge and not compare yourself to other lash artists. Every lash tech has its own unique style and experience. It is important that you know what your best qualities are, and then use them to your advantage when setting your prices. It is also important that when it comes time to price your services, you do not compare yourself to other lash artists in your area. You may be a great lash artist, but there will always be someone else who charges less than you do. You need to focus on what makes your services better than theirs, and then charge accordingly. Lashes and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Think about how much time you're spending on marketing efforts vs actual work time so that these efforts aren't costing more than what they bring in - it's important not to overspend when starting out! Trust yourself and your skills. PRO TIP: Your clients need to know you’re an expert, so start a YouTube channel where you can show techniques that they might not know about, and answer questions they might have. Have fun with it!   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION These strategies have worked for numerous lash business owners like you who are in the industry and they will help you get customers, raise your prices and start making the money that you deserve as an eyelash artist. If you want to get more clients as a lash artist, you need to know how to market yourself. And that includes knowing what your competition is doing, and how you can do it better. You can't just be the best—you have to be better than your competition, and you have to work harder than them. You have to be willing to put in the time and effort. Set your goal for this week/month, and if you didn’t reach them, don’t be discouraged. Keep it up until you achieve it!   We hope you've enjoyed reading this blog! How To Pick A Lash Extension Kit As A Beginner

by Michelle Rebay on Nov 14 2022
Starting as a lash artist? One of the first steps you’ll need to take is picking the right lash extension kit. With so many options out there, it can be overwhelming, especially for beginners. But don’t worry, we’re here to break it down so you can make an informed choice. Here’s how to pick the perfect lash extension kit for you! Promade Fans, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches and Lash Mirror For Eyelash Extension are used here. To shop, please click here.   Not sure about investing in products that may or may not work for you? Try our sample size versions to test it out before committing to the full size! Please click here.   1. Know Your Purpose Before buying any kit, figure out what you need it for. Are you practicing at home or setting up a professional business? This will help you decide between a basic, beginner kit or a more advanced, professional-grade one. Home Use: You only need a few essentials to get started. A basic kit with lashes, adhesive, and tweezers should be enough. Professional Use: You’ll need a comprehensive kit that includes various lash types, high-quality adhesives, and extra tools for different clients. Neon Color Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, Promade Fans, Lash Tape, and Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   2. What’s in a Lash Extension Kit? A good kit should cover the basics, allowing you to apply lashes easily. Here’s what to look for: Lash Extensions: These come in different lengths, thicknesses, and curls. A beginner kit should have a variety of lashes to practice with. Adhesive: Choose a glue that’s strong, fast-drying, and ideally latex-free (especially if you have sensitive skin). Tweezers: Precision tweezers are a must. You’ll use them to carefully place the lash extensions, so look for straight and curved options. Under-eye Patches: These help protect the lower lashes while you work on the upper ones. They also keep clients comfortable. Lash Primer/Cleaner: Cleaning your natural lashes before applying extensions is crucial for the glue to stick properly. Need lash supplies? Check out ThousandLashes. Click HERE to shop.   3. Quality Matters As tempting as it may be to go for the cheapest option, quality should be your top priority. Poor-quality lashes and glue can cause irritation or make your lashes fall off prematurely. Lashes: Look for soft, flexible, and lightweight lashes. They should feel comfortable and look natural. Adhesive: High-quality adhesive ensures a strong bond that lasts longer and won’t irritate your skin. While a higher price tag doesn’t always guarantee top quality, be cautious of very cheap kits, as they might include low-grade materials. Flower Self-Adhesive Mini Glue Holder, Volume Lashes, Oblong Tweezer and Barbie Lash Adhesive are used here. To shop, please click here.   4. Pick the Right Lash Type Lash extensions come in different materials. Here's a breakdown: Synthetic Lashes: Affordable and great for a dramatic look. They’re stiffer but work well for beginners. Mink Lashes: Soft and lightweight, they offer a more natural look. They’re pricier but ideal for a luxurious finish. Silk Lashes: Soft and flexible, offering a natural look with a slight sheen. These are a mid-range option. Cashmere Lashes: Ultra-light and soft, cashmere lashes create a fluffy, full look without feeling heavy. They’re comfortable and great for a voluminous yet natural appearance. Chloe Collection Volume Lashes (top), Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes (bottom) are used here. To shop, please click here.   5. Choose the Right Adhesive The adhesive you use will make a big difference in how long your lashes last. Here’s what to know: Latex-Free Adhesive: Best for clients with sensitive eyes. Regular Adhesive: Stronger and great for most people but can cause irritation for some. Make sure the glue is quick-drying to save time during application, and consider purchasing a slow-drying one if you’re new to the process. Consider Your Budget Lash kits come in a wide price range, so it’s important to consider your budget. While it’s tempting to buy the cheapest kit, remember that you get what you pay for. Budget Kits: Great for beginners practicing at home, but they might not include everything you need or offer the best quality. Mid-Range Kits: A good choice if you're serious about learning lash extensions and want something durable. Professional Kits: These are more expensive but will provide high-quality tools and supplies. Ideal if you're looking to start a business. Volume Lashes mix curls D, CC, and C, and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   7. Start with Neutrals: Keep it Simple: Start with neutral colors like white, beige, or light grey. They create a calm and clean atmosphere. Easy to Match: Neutral colors match easily with other colors, making your job simpler.    2. Consider Your Brand Colors: Brand Identity: If you have colors in your logo or business cards, think about using these in your room. It creates a consistent look. Create a Theme: Using your brand colors helps in creating a themed appearance, making your space more professional.   3. Add a Pop of Color: Brighten Up: Choose one brighter color to add some energy to the room. This could be a soft pink, light blue, or another color that you love. Not Too Much: Be careful not to use too much bright color. A little goes a long way!   4. Think About Emotions: Color Psychology: Different colors can make us feel different ways. Blues and greens are calming, while reds and oranges are energizing. Match the Mood: Think about the mood you want in your lash room and choose colors that match.   5. Look at Color Wheels: Helpful Tool: A color wheel shows which colors look good together. You can find these online. Complementary Colors: These are colors that are opposite each other on the wheel, and they work well together.   6. Test Your Colors: Sample First: Before you decide, get some paint samples and try them out on the walls. Check the Lighting: Look at the colors in different lighting to make sure they always look good.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION When we think about lash rooms, we often assume the larger is better. What Is The Secret To Natural Looking Lash Extensions

by Michelle Rebay on Oct 11 2022
Creating natural-looking lash extensions is a skill that every lash artist strives to master. This blog post will guide you through the essential factors to consider when applying extensions to achieve that sought-after, flawless look. We will focus on the basics: curl, length, diameter, and color. Here are ten tips to help you understand these elements better and apply them effectively in your lash services. Cashmere Noir Collection Classic Lashes, Elite High Humidity Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   1. Understanding Lash Curls Lash curls vary, and choosing the right one can make a big difference. The most common types are J, B, C, and D curls. For a natural look, J and B curls offer a gentle uplift, mimicking the natural lash line. C and D curls provide a more dramatic lift, suitable for clients who want a more open-eyed look. Matching the curl to your client’s natural lashes is key to achieving a seamless blend.   To find out more about choosing the right lash length, please click here.   2. Choosing the Right Length The length of the lash extensions plays a crucial role in how natural they will look. Typically, it’s best to use a variety of lengths that mimic the natural lash growth cycle, using shorter lashes on the inner and outer corners and longer lashes in the middle. This technique creates a smooth, natural gradient that looks authentic.   3. Selecting the Proper Diameter The diameter of lash extensions affects their weight and overall feel. For a natural appearance, thinner lashes (around 0.10 mm to 0.15 mm) are ideal because they blend seamlessly with the client’s natural lashes without overburdening them.   4. Matching Lash Color Most clients will benefit from black lash extensions as they naturally blend with the typical eyelash color. However, for clients with lighter hair, consider using brown lashes or even lighter shades to maintain the natural quality of their lash line.   5. Application Techniques Applying lash extensions with precision is fundamental. Ensure each extension is attached to a single natural lash. This prevents clumping and maintains the health of the natural lashes, contributing to a more natural look.   6. Customizing Lash Maps Every client’s eyes are unique, and so should be their lash map. Tailor the lash extension design to enhance the natural eye shape and size of your client, which helps maintain a natural appearance.   To learn more about lash mapping, please click here.   7. Importance of Lash Isolation Proper isolation ensures that each natural lash is separated and that extensions are applied individually. This technique is crucial for avoiding damage to the natural lashes and for achieving a clean, natural finish.   Click here to learn easy ways to isolate lashes for faster application.   8. Maintaining Natural Density Avoid overloading the lashes. A natural look can be achieved by maintaining a balance, not exceeding the natural lash density. This approach helps in preserving the health of the client's natural lashes and ensures comfort.   9. Aftercare Advice Educate your clients on how to care for their lash extensions. Proper aftercare maintains the life of the extensions and keeps them looking natural and beautiful for longer. Remind clients to avoid oil-based products and to gently cleanse their lashes.   10. Regular Refills Encourage clients to come back for regular refills every 2-3 weeks. Maintaining their lash extensions can prevent gaps and an uneven appearance, which helps preserve the natural look of the extensions.   CONCLUSION By understanding and implementing these fundamental aspects, you can master the art of natural-looking lash extensions. Remember, the goal is to enhance beauty subtly and effectively, ensuring each client leaves feeling confident and satisfied with a natural-looking lash line.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.    Do you find this blog post helpful?
