It comes in two types - jelly and creamy. How It Works: The balm is applied to the lashes before the lifting process. It helps in softening the lash hair, making it more pliable and easy to mold into the desired shape. The jelly type is lighter and great for fine lashes, while the creamy type is more nourishing for thicker lashes. Why It’s Essential: Using lash lift balm ensures that the lashes don't get damaged during the lifting process. It also helps in achieving a smoother and more uniform lift. Jelly Lash Lift Balm and Rainbow Lash Lift Rods are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Lash Rods What They Are: Lash rods are small tools that come in various sizes and are used to shape the lashes during the lift. How They Work: These rods are placed at the base of the eyelids, and the lashes are brushed upwards over them. The self-adhering rods stick to the eyelid without any additional adhesive, whereas the regular lash rods are used with a gentle balm / adhesive. Why They’re Essential: Lash rods are crucial for creating the desired curl. They come in different colors and sizes to accommodate different lash lengths and desired curl intensities. Self Adhering Lash Rods is used here. To shop, please click here.   Creamy Lash Lift Balm, Lash Lift Ribbons and Rainbow Lash Lift Rods are used in this set. Lash shields come in various sizes, and the main function of these silicone rods is to provide a mold for the lashes to curl against during the lifting process. Think of them as the mold that gives those lashes their stunning curve. Different shield sizes create different lash lift results—from a dramatic curl to a gentle lift that opens up the eyes.   SS (Super Small): For the shortest lashes, creating a bold, intense lift. S (Small): Still dramatic but slightly less intense than SS—great for short lashes. M (Medium): A balanced, noticeable lift for medium-length lashes, giving them a natural, eye-opening curl. L (Large): Ideal for longer lashes, providing a soft, natural-looking lift without a dramatic curl. LL (Large Low): Perfect for longer lashes that need a more gentle lift, maintaining a straight, elongated look. XL (Extra Large): For the longest natural lashes, offering the gentlest, most natural lift.   How to Choose the Right Lash Shield Size 1. Natural Lash Length This is the first thing to assess. Lash length will guide your shield size decision: Short Natural Lashes: SS or S shields will give short lashes that coveted extra curl. They make the lashes appear more lifted and defined, creating that wow factor. Medium-Length Lashes: M shields are your best bet for medium-length lashes, giving them a natural but visible lift—perfect for clients wanting something eye-catching but not over-the-top. Long Lashes: L, LL, or XL shields are ideal. Longer lashes already have that natural length, so they don’t need as much curl to stand out. Larger shields will keep them looking soft and lifted without curling too much.   2. Desired Effect Always ask your client what they’re looking for in their lash lift. This will help you decide between a more intense curl or a natural-looking lift: Dramatic Curl: Opt for a smaller shield (SS or S). These create a tighter curl, making the lashes look significantly lifted and curled back. Great for clients who want their lashes to really pop. Natural Lift: For clients looking for a natural, elegant curl, go for a larger shield (M, L, or XL). These shields provide a more elongated, gentle lift, perfect for clients who want their lashes to appear fuller and longer without looking too curled.   3. Eye Shape The natural curve of your client’s eye also impacts which shield size will work best: Almond or Deep-Set Eyes: Smaller shields will ensure all the lashes lift evenly, avoiding gaps at the outer corners. Wide-Set or Large Eyes: Larger shields often work better, especially if your client has longer lashes. This keeps the lift smooth and seamless without creating a “bent” look.   4. Lash Thickness The thickness of your client’s natural lashes also matters: Thicker Lashes: Opt for larger shields to prevent over-curling. Finer Lashes: Smaller shields can give them the perfect lift without making them appear too short or stubby.   Learn MORE about different rod sizes for lash lifts and how to choose the right one for your clients. Click HERE.   Lash Lift Silicone Patches What They Are: These are soft, flexible patches that fit the contour of the eyelid. How They Work: The patches are placed on the eyelid, close to the lash line. Lashes are then lifted and set over these patches, which helps in achieving a natural, upward curl. Why They’re Essential: Silicone patches are gentler on the skin than traditional rods and provide a more natural, rounded lift. They’re perfect for clients who want a subtle, elegant curl.   Lash & Brow Lift Kit, and Lash Patches and Rods for Lash Lift and Tint are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Lash Lift Ribbons What They Are: These thin ribbons are used to keep lashes in place during the lifting process. How They Work: Lash lift ribbons are placed over the lashes once they are set on the lifting rod or silicone patch. They help in keeping the lashes straight and evenly distributed, ensuring a uniform lift. Why They’re Essential: Without these ribbons, lashes can become uneven or crisscross, leading to a less than perfect lift. They are key to achieving that flawless, professional look. Creamy Lash Lift Balm, Lash Lift Ribbons and Rainbow Lash Lift Rods are used in this set. To shop, please click here.    Lash Lift Tray & Palette What It Is: This is a tray used for organizing and holding all the tools and solutions needed during a lash lift. How It Works: The tray typically has sections or wells where you can place your lifting solutions, adhesives, and other tools, keeping everything clean and easily accessible. Why It’s Essential: A lash lift tray & palette helps in maintaining a hygienic work area and reduces the chances of product contamination or mix-up. Lash Lift Tray is used here. To shop, please click here.   Lash & Brow Lift Kit and Lash Lift Palette are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Lash Lift Tool What It Is: A precision tool designed specifically for lash lifts. How It Works: This tool is used to separate the lashes, apply solutions, and position the lashes on the rods or patches. Why It’s Essential: The lash lift tool allows for precision and ease in handling delicate lashes. It ensures that each lash is perfectly placed for an even and beautiful lift. Lash Lift Tool, Lash & Brow Lift Kit, and Lash Patches and Rods for Lash Lift and Tint are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   CONCLUSION Achieving a stunning lash lift is all about using the right tools and products. Lash Extension Styles: Understanding Sizes and Styles

by Michelle Rebay on Jan 07 2024
As a professional lash artist, it's crucial to understand the various sizes and styles of lash extensions. This knowledge not only enhances your skillset but also ensures you can provide tailored services to your clients. Let's dive into a detailed look at lash extension sizes and styles.   Promade Loose Fans, Colored Promade Fans, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. Here’s a breakdown: Length: Typically ranging from 6mm to 17mm. Shorter lashes (6-9mm) are great for a natural look, especially for clients with shorter natural lashes. Medium lengths (10-12mm) offer a balanced and noticeable enhancement, suitable for most clients. Longer lengths (13-17mm) create a dramatic effect, ideal for clients seeking a bold look.  Thickness: Usually varies between 0.03mm and 0.25mm.  Thinner lashes (0.03mm-0.07mm) are used for volume sets, as they are light and can be applied in multiples. Standard thickness (0.10mm-0.15mm) is popular for classic sets, providing a noticeable yet natural appearance. Thicker lashes (0.18mm-0.25mm) create a more dramatic and mascara-like effect.  Lash Curls: Common types include J, B, C, D, and L curls. J and B curls offer a subtle lift, suitable for a natural look. C curls are a popular choice, providing a noticeable curl that works well for most eye shapes. D curls offer a dramatic curl, ideal for clients wanting a more open-eye look. L curls have a sharp bend, perfect for hooded or deep-set eyes.   Lash Extension Styles There are several lash extension styles, each creating a different look: Natural Style: Mimics the natural lash line, using varying lengths that follow the eye’s natural shape. Classic Lashes, Elite High Humidity Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. For example, a cat-eye style can elongate round eyes. Discuss Desired Outcomes: Have a thorough consultation with your client. Understand their daily routine, preferences, and the look they aim to achieve. Aftercare Advice: Educate clients on proper aftercare to maintain the longevity and health of their lash extensions. Photographing Your Work: Tips for Lash Artists

by Michelle Rebay on Jan 01 2024
As a lash artist, showcasing your work effectively is crucial in attracting clients and building your brand. High-quality photographs of your lash extensions can make a significant difference. Here are practical tips to help you capture stunning images that reflect the beauty and precision of your work. Promade Fans, Neon Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Lighting is Key: Good lighting is essential for lash photography. Natural light is the best, so try to take photos near a window during the day. If natural light isn’t an option, use a ring light to create a uniform light source. This will highlight the details of the lashes without creating harsh shadows. Example: Compare a photo taken in natural light vs. one with poor lighting. You'll notice the natural light photo shows more lash detail and looks more inviting.   Choose the Right Background: A simple, uncluttered background ensures that the focus remains on the lashes. Use a neutral or white backdrop to avoid any color cast. This can be a plain wall, a professional backdrop, or even a large piece of white paper. Example: Snap a photo against a busy background and then against a plain one. The difference in focus and professionalism is evident.   Focus on the Details: Use a camera or smartphone with a good macro lens to capture the intricate details of your lash work. Ensure your camera is focused on the lashes to avoid blurry images. The more detailed your photo, the more it will appeal to potential clients. Example: Take a close-up shot wherelashes are visible. This level of detail can be a deciding factor for clients.   Consistent Angles and Framing: Be consistent with your angles and framing for a professional look. Decide on a few standard angles that best show off your work and stick with them for all your photos. This consistency will give your portfolio and social media a neat, organized appearance. Example: Use a frontal angle and a side angle for each set of lashes. Consistency in these angles provides a cohesive look to your portfolio.   Editing for Enhancement, Not Deception: Use photo editing apps to enhance the image but remain true to the actual work. Adjust the brightness, contrast, and sharpness to make the lashes stand out. Avoid over-editing, as it can misrepresent the quality of your work. Example: Before and after editing photos can showcase how subtle enhancements can make the photo pop without looking fake.   Highlight Different Styles: Showcase a variety of lash styles in your portfolio. From classic to volume lashes, photographing a range of styles demonstrates your versatility as a lash artist. Example: Include photos of different lash lengths, curls, and volumes. This variety will cater to a broader audience.   Use a High-Quality Camera or Smartphone: While professional cameras are great, a high-quality smartphone can also do the job. Ensure your device has a good camera resolution and learn how to use its features to your advantage. Example: Compare a photo taken with a professional camera and one with a high-end smartphone. Often, the difference is minimal if the smartphone photo is taken well.   Consider the Client’s Comfort: Always ask for your client's permission before taking photos. Ensure they are comfortable and relaxed, as this will reflect in the photo. A happy client makes for a great model! Example: Share photos of clients with natural expressions versus those who seem uncomfortable. Comfortable clients naturally enhance the photo's appeal.   Show Before and After Shots: Before and after photos are compelling. They showcase your skill in transforming the client’s lashes. Make sure the 'before' photo is taken in the same setting as the 'after' photo for consistency. Example: Display a before photo with natural lashes and an after photo with extensions. The transformation is always impressive to potential clients.   Practice and Experiment: Finally, practice makes perfect. Experiment with different settings, lights, and angles to find what works best for you. Over time, you’ll develop a signature style that sets your work apart.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   TOOLS FOR AMAZING LASH PHOTOS As a lash artist, capturing the beauty of your work in photographs is vital for showcasing your skills and attracting clients. High-quality images not only enhance your portfolio but also elevate your brand on social media. In this section, we'll explore the essential tools and techniques needed for stunning lash photography. Promade Fans, Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The Right Camera Equipment: Smartphone or DSLR Camera: A smartphone with a high-quality camera is sufficient for most lash artists. For more professional results, consider investing in a DSLR camera. Macro Lens: This is crucial for close-up shots to capture the intricate details of the lashes. Some smartphones have built-in macro capabilities, or you can buy attachable lenses. Tripod: A tripod stabilizes your camera, ensuring sharp, clear images without blur from hand movements.   Lighting Solutions: Natural Light: The best light source is natural, indirect sunlight. It evenly illuminates the lashes without harsh shadows. Ring Light: For consistent lighting, especially in low-light conditions, a ring light is a great investment. It provides even, diffused light that highlights the details in the lashes.   Backdrop and Environment: Neutral Background: Use a plain, neutral-colored backdrop to ensure the focus remains on the lashes. A simple white or light grey background works well. Clean and Uncluttered Space: Make sure the area around your subject is tidy and free from distractions. This helps keep the viewer's attention on the lashes.   Editing Software: Mobile Apps: Apps like Facetune, VSCO, Snapseed, or Lightroom Mobile are user-friendly options for basic editing tasks like adjusting brightness, contrast, and sharpness. Professional Software: For more advanced editing, software like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom provides extensive editing capabilities.   Photography Accessories: Reflectors: These help to bounce light onto the subject, reducing shadows and highlighting lash details. Lens Cleaning Kit: A clean lens is vital for clear, crisp images. Regularly clean your lens with a proper cleaning kit to avoid dust and smudges.   Consent Forms: Model Release Forms: Always obtain consent from your clients before photographing them. Keep model release forms handy to ensure you have the legal right to use the images for your portfolio and marketing.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION Capturing the perfect shot of your lash work can be as artistic as the lash application itself. By following these tips, you can create a stunning visual portfolio that attracts clients and showcases your expertise. Myths About Lash Extensions: What Clients Need To Know

Are there any risks with eyelash extensions? What is the downfall of eyelash extensions? Is eyelash extension bad for eyes? Lash extensions have been a beauty game-changer, but with their popularity comes a fair share of myths and misconceptions. As a lash artist, it's my job to set the record straight, ensuring clients have all the facts. Let's debunk some common myths with simple, clear truths. Spring, Summer Collection Tweezer Kit is used here. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Myth 1: Lash Extensions Ruin Your Natural Lashes This is probably the biggest worry I hear from new clients. The truth is, when applied correctly by a professional, lash extensions do not harm your natural lashes. The key is proper application where each extension is attached to a single natural lash, and the use of appropriate lengths and weights that your natural lashes can support. Myth 2: Lash Extensions Are Painful If you’re sitting there thinking that beauty equals pain, in the case of lash extensions, this is simply not true. The application process should be completely pain-free. If you feel any discomfort, speak up, because that’s not the norm. Your comfort is a priority during the entire session. Myth 3: The More Glue, The Better The Hold This is a common misunderstanding. More adhesive does not mean a better hold; in fact, it's quite the opposite. A skilled lash artist uses just enough glue to bond the extension to the natural lash without causing clumps or stickies. It’s all about precision, not quantity.   Find out the precise technique for glue dipping. Click here for the full guide. Myth 4: Lash Extensions Are One-Size-Fits-All Lash extensions are highly customizable. As a lash artist, I assess the condition of your natural lashes, your eye shape, and your lifestyle before recommending a specific length, curl, and thickness. There's a variety to choose from to get the perfect, personalized look.   Dive into our guide to find the perfect lash curl for every client. Myth 5: Lash Extensions Require No Upkeep While it's true that lash extensions can simplify your beauty routine, they do require some upkeep. Regular cleaning and brushing are necessary to maintain the look and health of your lash extensions. Also, refills are needed every 2-4 weeks to replace any lashes that have naturally shed. Myth 6: You Can’t Get Lash Extensions Wet There was a time when it was recommended to avoid water for 24-48 hours post-application, but with advancements in lash adhesive technology, this is no longer the case. It’s still wise to be gentle with your lashes and avoid steam or high-pressure water for the first day or so. Myth 7: Lash Extensions Are Only for the Young Lash extensions are for any adult who wants them, regardless of age. They can add volume to thinning lashes and provide a youthful appearance by lifting the eye area. The key is a tailored application that suits your unique lash needs and lifestyle. Myth 8: Mascara Enhances Lash Extensions Actually, mascara can create clumping and may interfere with the adhesive bond on lash extensions. If you have extensions, you typically won’t need mascara at all. If you must use it, opt for a water-based formula and apply it sparingly to the tips only.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Choosing the Right Lash Technician: What to Look For When it comes to eyelash extensions, the skill of your lash technician is everything. It’s not just about making your eyes pop – it’s also about ensuring the health of your natural lashes. So, how do you choose the right technician? Lashes, Glitter Galaxy Collection, Color Lashes, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, Velour Lash Adhesive, Gel Under Eye Patches and Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape used in this set. To shop, please click here.     Check for Certifications: First and foremost, ensure your lash artist is certified. This means they’ve been trained to apply lashes safely and effectively. Don’t be shy to ask to see their credentials.   Examine Their Work: A picture is worth a thousand words. Look through the technician’s portfolio or social media pages. You’re looking for consistency, style, and the quality of their work.   Read the Reviews: Customer reviews can offer honest insights. Look for feedback about the artist's technique, the longevity of the lashes, and the overall experience.   Ask About the Products: A good lash technician will use high-quality products. They should be able to tell you about the types of lashes and glue they use and why.   Consider the Consultation: A professional will provide a thorough consultation. They should ask about any allergies, your lifestyle, and the look you’re going for.   Observe the Hygiene Practices: Cleanliness in their workspace is crucial. Proper sanitation protects you from infections and ensures a safe application process.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION There you have it, some of the most common myths about lash extensions busted! However, it’s important to strike the right balance to ensure that your promotions boost business without undermining your profits or the perceived value of your services. In this section, we’ll explore the do’s and don’ts of offering lash extension discounts to help you build your clientele while maintaining a thriving business. Check Mate Collection: Color Lashes Mixed Length (10-16mm), Bullet Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The Do’s of Lash Extension Discounts: Do Offer First-Time Client Discounts: Encourage new clients to try your services by providing a first-time client discount. This could be a percentage off their first service or a fixed amount discount. Make sure the discount is enticing enough to grab attention but not so deep that it undervalues your work. Do Create Bundle Deals: Offer package deals for multiple sessions, such as ‘Buy 3 lash fills, get 1 free.’ This encourages repeat business and ensures that clients return to your salon for their lash maintenance. Do Utilize Seasonal Promotions: Align your discounts with seasons or holidays. For example, offer a ‘Spring Fling’ discount in March or an ‘Autumn Glam’ special in September. This creates urgency and taps into the client’s desire to look their best for specific occasions or seasons. Do Implement a Loyalty Program: A loyalty program rewards repeat clients, creating an incentive for clients to keep coming back. For every service they book, clients could earn points that they can redeem for discounts on future services or free add-ons. Do Promote Referral Discounts: Encourage your current clients to refer friends and family by offering a referral discount. Both the existing client and the new client could receive a percentage off their next service, fostering a community of satisfied clients who promote your business.   The Don’ts of Lash Extension Discounts: Don’t Undercut Your Value: Avoid offering excessively deep discounts. This could lead clients to question the quality of your work or expect low prices all the time, making it difficult to charge full price later.   Don’t Run Promotions Constantly: Frequent discounts can create an expectation for reduced prices, undermining the perceived value of your services. Run promotions strategically and sparingly to maintain the allure of a special offer.   Don’t Forget to Set Terms and Conditions: Clearly outline the terms and conditions of your promotions to avoid misunderstandings. Specify the validity period of the discount, any services excluded from the promotion, and any other relevant details.   Don’t Overlook Your Existing Clients: While attracting new clients is essential, don’t forget to show appreciation to your existing clientele. Offer loyalty discounts or exclusive promotions to thank them for their continued support.   Don’t Neglect Your Online Presence: Use your website and social media channels to promote your discounts. Ensure your messaging is clear, appealing, and targets the right audience.   New to lash photo editing? Promade Fans, Glittery Lash Extensions, Glitter Lash Extensions, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   12 Days of Lash Christmas A “12 Days of Christmas” promotion is a fun and engaging way to build excitement. Offer a different deal each day leading up to Christmas. This could include discounts, free add-ons, or exclusive services, keeping clients coming back for more. How to do it: Offer 12 different deals over the course of 12 days. Example deals could include 10% off fills, free lash cleanser with a full set, or discounted upgrades like brow lamination. Set the price of the deals according to your regular pricing but offer a 10-20% discount on each day’s deal. Announce each deal on social media, in your email list, and in your studio.   Holiday Lash Package Create a "Holiday Lash Package" which includes a full set of lashes and a fill, all bundled together at a discounted price. This package encourages clients to commit to both services, ensuring their lashes look great all season long. How to do it: Offer a bundle of a full set of lashes and one lash fill, at 15-20% off the total cost. For example, if a full set costs $150 and a fill is $65, offer the bundle for $180-190. Promote this as a “Holiday Lash Package” that gives clients everything they need to keep their lashes looking fresh through the season.   Lash & Brow Combo Deal Many clients want both lashes and brows done before the holidays. Offer a combo deal that includes a lash set and brow shaping or lamination, all at a discount. How to do it: Bundle a full set of lashes with brow waxing or lamination for a 20% discount. Example pricing: Lash set $150 + Brow lamination $70 = Bundle for $175 (save $45). Offer this as the “Holiday Glow Package” for clients looking for a full beauty upgrade.   Refer a Friend, Get a Free Lash Cleanse Referral programs are a great way to grow your client base. Offer a free lash cleanse or retail product to clients who refer a friend that books a lash service. How to do it: Offer a free lash cleanse or a lash serum (value around $15-$25) for every successful referral. Set up a system where the new client has to book a full set, and the referrer gets their reward after the appointment. Promote this through social media and in-studio signage.   Early Bird Christmas Special Encourage clients to book their appointments early by offering an "Early Bird Special" for clients who schedule their appointments before a certain date. How to do it: Offer 15-20% off lash services for clients who book their holiday appointments 2-3 weeks before the peak holiday season (e.g., before December 10th). Example: Regular full set price $150, Early Bird Price $120-$130. This will help fill your schedule and secure bookings well ahead of time.   Gift Card Bonus Gift cards are perfect for the holiday season. Offer a special bonus for clients who purchase gift cards, encouraging them to buy for others while also treating themselves. How to do it: Offer a $20 bonus for every $100 gift card purchased. Example: A client buys a $100 gift card and receives a $20 bonus to use on their next lash fill. Promote the offer heavily on social media and in-studio to get people to purchase.   Festive Lash Sets Add some holiday cheer to your lash services with festive lash sets. Think glitter, colorful lashes, or subtle sparkles to create a fun, festive vibe for your clients. How to do it: Offer a special add-on for holiday lash designs (glitter, color accents, or tiny rhinestones). Charge an additional $10-$20 for the holiday design add-on, depending on the complexity of the design. Market it as "Holiday Lash Art" for clients who want to add a little sparkle to their lashes for the season.   Lash + Retail Product Bundle Promote your retail products by bundling them with lash services. This can encourage clients to purchase aftercare products and increase your retail sales. How to do it: Offer a retail product bundle, such as a lash shampoo and serum, with a lash set or fill. Bundle it for a discount, like $30 for a lash set and lash care product bundle, which would normally be $40-$45. Promote this as an essential post-lash care kit.   Free Lash Removal with New Set If clients are due for a lash removal, offer it for free when they book a new set. This adds value for the client and encourages them to get a fresh set of lashes. How to do it: Offer a free lash removal when clients book a full set of lashes. This is particularly helpful for clients who need their old lashes removed before getting a new set. Promote it as an added bonus for the holiday season, making it easier for clients to start fresh.   Christmas Lash Party Create a fun, festive lash party where multiple clients can book together and receive group discounts. It’s a great way to make the experience social and exciting. How to do it: Set up a “Lash Party” where 4 or more clients can book at the same time and receive 10% off their services. Offer holiday treats and drinks to create a fun atmosphere. Advertise this as a “Girls Night Out” lash experience, perfect for getting ready for the holidays together.   12-Month Membership Plan Offer a special 12-month membership plan where clients can pay upfront for a year of lash fills at a discounted rate. This is a great way to secure recurring revenue. How to do it: Offer a 12-month membership plan with a 10-15% discount for clients who pay upfront for their fills. Example: Regular price for monthly fills is $65, offer a 12-month membership for $700 instead of $780. Promote this as an exclusive VIP deal for clients who want to ensure their lashes stay perfect all year.   Christmas Countdown Deals Create a countdown to Christmas where you offer a different deal every day or week leading up to the holiday. This keeps clients engaged and excited to see what’s next. How to do it: Offer a new deal each week, such as discounts on fills, free aftercare products, or special add-ons. Use social media to announce the deals and create anticipation for each day/week.   Lash “New Year’s Eve” Special Prepare your clients for New Year's Eve with a special lash deal. Offer a "NYE Lash Special" for clients who want to look their best for the big night. How to do it: Offer an upgrade to a fuller set of lashes or include a free lash tint for clients booking their lashes before NYE. Price: Full set with tint could be priced at $160-$180, depending on your usual pricing. Promote this as the perfect way to ring in the New Year with flawless lashes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CHRISTMAS PROMO GUIDE: IDEAL DISCOUNT RATES FOR LASH SERVICES The holidays are upon us, and it's the season to sparkle – not just for festive decorations but also for your business promotions. As a lash artist, you're considering what discount to offer your clients this Christmas. Here's the simple truth: the ideal discount strikes a balance between attracting clients and maintaining your profit. Check Mate Collection: Color Lashes Mixed Length (10-16mm) , Bullet Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The Magic Number A good discount for holiday promotions usually sits between 15% and 25%. This range is sweet enough to catch the eye of potential clients but doesn't cut too close to your bottom line.   Why 15-25%? 15% is just enough to nudge a client who's considering lashes to take the leap. 20% is a solid, round number that's perceived as a substantial deal, often used for more premium services. 25% is generous and can be the push for new clients to try your services and for regulars to indulge more.   The Value Perspective Instead of just slashing prices, add value. Offer a 20% discount on a new set of lashes and throw in a small gift, like a lash foam shampoo. It feels more like a holiday treat rather than just a price cut.   Timing is Everything Consider offering your promotional discount during specific times to manage your bookings better. For instance, a 20% off deal for appointments booked before noon can help fill slower morning slots.   Special Touches Remember, it's not always about the percentage. Personal touches count. Personalized emails with a 15% discount code can make clients feel special and more inclined to book. Keep It Simple Whatever discount you decide on, make sure it’s easy to understand and apply. Complex conditions can turn clients away.   Monitor and Adjust Start with a discount you're comfortable with, and be prepared to adjust if the response isn't what you expected. Flexibility is key. PRO TIP: A discount between 15% and 25% is a good range to consider for your Christmas lash promotion. It's enticing for clients and sensible for your business. Pair your discount with added value or strategic timing to maximize its impact.    For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION Remember, the key to successful holiday promotions is clarity. Keep the offers simple, straightforward, and easy to understand. No need for flowery language; let the deals speak for themselves. The goal is to spread holiday cheer while boosting your business — and with these promotional ideas, you're well on your way to a festive and fruitful season.   We're also always looking for new content ideas, so if you have a topic you'd like us to write about, feel free to comment down below and let us know!   Do you find this blog post helpful? Troubleshooting Common Lash Extension Issues: From Allergies to Fallouts

by Michelle Rebay on Nov 19 2023
As lash artists, red eyes after a lash extension appointment can be a common concern for clients. But what exactly causes red eyes, and how can we prevent them?  Here's a breakdown of the key information to help you understand and prevent red eyes in the lash room.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   What Causes Red Eyes After Lash Extensions? Not a chemical burn: Red eyes are caused by irritation, not by a burn or abrasion. Adhesive particles: Lash glue releases tiny particles into the air, similar to how nail techs wear masks to protect themselves from particles. Body's defense: The eye turns red as a defense mechanism, not because it’s burning. It’s simply irritated. Redness: This irritation occurs when the glue particles land on the surface of the eye and your body reacts by dilating the blood vessels.   Understanding the Eye’s Tear Film The tear film in the eye has three layers: Mucin Layer (Sticky layer): Keeps the eye moist and protects it. Aqueous Layer (Watery layer): Provides hydration to the eye. Lipid Layer (Oil layer): Prevents the watery layer from evaporating. When you apply lashes, the tear film gets disrupted. The pads and tape can also prevent the tear film from doing its job.  Without this protection, glue particles from the lashes can settle on the eye and cause irritation.   Why Do Red Eyes Happen During Lash Appointments? Disruption of tear film: During the service, the eye's natural defense (tear film) is interrupted because the client keeps their eyes closed for a long time. Lack of blinking: When the client isn't blinking, the tear film isn’t replenished, leaving the eye vulnerable to irritants. Eye pads: Under-eye pads can flatten the eyelid margins, making it harder for the tear film to protect the eye.   Understanding Lash Adhesive Ingredients Cyanoacrylate: Most lash adhesives contain this ingredient, which is a skin and eye irritant. Even though it’s safe in lash extensions, the fumes can irritate the eyes. Acrylate: Some adhesives use acrylate, which can also cause irritation, though it’s generally less reactive than cyanoacrylate. Microscopic particles: The adhesive gives off tiny particles, which can settle on the eye, causing redness and irritation. Ultra Crystal Clear Bond is used here. To shop, please click here.   Want to learn more about lash glue basics? Discover everything you need to know in Cyanoacrylate Types. 👉 Click HERE to read more   How to Prevent Red Eyes Replenish the tear film: Keep the eyes hydrated during the appointment to prevent dryness and irritation. Use single-use, preservative-free eye drops like Refresh. These drops are designed to hydrate the eye and provide protection. Avoid using fans: Fans may seem like a good idea to dry the glue, but they actually dry out the eyes further. The fan doesn’t remove the irritating particles; it just makes things worse. Proper pad placement: Ensure that under-eye pads are placed gently and not flattening the margins of the eyes. This helps maintain the tear film and prevents further irritation. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   What to Do if Red Eyes Occur Educate your clients: Let them know that red eyes are usually caused by temporary irritation, not a serious injury or infection. Recommend hydration: Suggest using eye drops like Refresh to help rehydrate the eyes. These drops are safe, preservative-free, and designed to mimic the body’s natural tear film. Explain the process: If a client calls about red eyes after their appointment, reassure them that it’s likely from the glue particles, not a sign of poor hygiene or dirty tools.   What Not to Use Avoid "red-out" drops (like Visine): These drops contain vasoconstrictors, which shrink blood vessels to reduce redness. However, they prevent the eye from flushing out irritants, which makes the healing process slower and more painful. Don’t use large bottles of eye drops: These can easily get contaminated, and they contain preservatives that can irritate the eye. Stick with single-use vials for safety and hygiene. Saline solution as a substitute: If eye drops aren’t available, saline solution can help flush the eye, but it doesn’t hydrate as well as proper eye drops. Refresh is ideal because it contains both saline and lipids for full hydration.   Lash Extensions Falling Out Is it normal for some lash extensions to fall out straight away? Yes, it's normal for a few lashes to fall out immediately or within the first couple of days due to the natural lash cycle. However, if a significant number are falling out, it's time to reassess your application technique or the products you're using. Organized Pro-made Fans, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Super Bonder and Lash Wisps are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   What causes lash extensions to fall out? Natural Lash Cycle: It's natural for lashes to shed and regenerate. Lash extensions attached to lashes at the end of their lifecycle will fall out sooner. Improper Aftercare: Oils or glycol-based products can break down the adhesive, causing early fallouts. Make sure your clients are aware of proper aftercare. Faulty Application: Too much or too little adhesive can affect the longevity of lash extensions.   Why do lash extensions fall out faster on one eye? This can happen for several reasons: Sleeping Habits: Sleeping on one side can cause more pressure and friction on lashes, leading to premature fallouts on that side. Differences in Natural Lashes: One eye might have lashes that are in a different phase of the growth cycle compared to the other. Inconsistent Application: Ensure that the adhesive is applied evenly and consistently on both eyes.   Conclusion: Preventing Red Eyes Starts with Education and Hydration As a lash artist, it’s crucial to understand that red eyes are caused by irritation, not burns or abrasions. By replenishing the tear film and educating your clients, you can prevent this issue from occurring. Here’s a quick recap: Hydrate the eyes with preservative-free, single-use eye drops like Refresh. Avoid using fans, which can dry out the eyes further. Place under-eye pads gently to prevent disruption of the tear film. Educate clients on the causes of red eyes and how to manage it. By following these steps, you’ll ensure your clients have a more comfortable experience and avoid the common issue of red eyes after lash extensions.     These tips are just a glimpse of so many things that you need to learn on how to improve your client's retention.  I have compiled all the helpful tips in our LASH RETENTION ONLINE COURSE.   THIS ISN'T ABOUT SALES TALK. Lash Mapping: What to Do and What to Avoid

by Michelle Rebay on Nov 12 2023
Lash mapping is not optional. It’s the structure that holds the entire lash set together. Whether you're working with classic, hybrid, or volume lashes, mapping sets the pace for precision and balance. Lash Wisps, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches, Bullet Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Silicone Extra Sensitive Tape, Lash Tape, Straight Isolation Tweezer and Short Tip Boot Lash Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   What Is Lash Mapping? Lash mapping is the layout plan for lash lengths, curls, and styles across the client's eyelid. You design this before starting your set. It helps avoid guesswork. It also keeps symmetry in check, especially for sets that follow natural lash patterns or create stylized looks. Want to Master Lash Mapping? Try our LASH MAPPING GUIDE. This essential tool is made for both beginner and experienced lash artists. 📲 Want a printed copy? [Click here] 📦 Want a digital copy? [Click here]   Why Lash Mapping Matters It saves time during application. It ensures both eyes match. It prevents overloading inner or outer corners. It gives consistency across refills. Without a map, your lash line can turn chaotic. You’ll notice imbalance. Your set might look rushed or uneven. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Glitter Galaxy Collection, Color Lashes, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, Velour Lash Adhesive, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.    Lash Mapping: What to Do 1. Start with Eye Assessment Check if the client has round, almond, hooded, monolid, deep-set, or downturned eyes. Note any lash gaps or sparse zones. Don’t skip asking about eye sensitivity or allergies. 2. Decide on the Style Styles include doll eye, cat eye, squirrel, or natural sweep. Pick a style that fits their eye shape and their request. Draw the map accordingly. 3. Use a White Eye Patch (or which do you think you can work better) Helps you draw the mapping cleanly. You can mark zones easily without bleeding ink. 4. Divide the Eyelid into Zones Use vertical lines across the patch to mark sections. Most maps have 5–7 zones. These zones guide you in switching lash lengths and curls. 5. Write Lengths in Each Zone Mark the exact millimeter for each zone. Follow natural lash growth or style design. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, Incredible Retention Primer, Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.    Lash Mapping: What to Avoid 1. Guessing the Design Midway Don’t freestyle during the lash set. Always know your layout before touching the tweezers. 2. Skipping Lash Line Symmetry Check Don’t assume both eyes are the same. Eyelids are rarely identical. Adjust the map per eye if needed. 3. Overloading the Outer Corners Don’t use long lengths too far out. This can cause drooping or twisting. 4. Using One Curl Throughout Don’t keep the same curl from inner to outer. First things first, let's understand what we're dealing with. A "lash stickie" is when one eyelash extension sticks to a neighboring lash. Not only is it a bit unprofessional on our part, but it can also be super uncomfortable for the client. Imagine having your lashes pulling on each other every time you blink—ouch! Volume Lashes, Lash Adhesive Sample, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Incredible Retention Primer, Lash Tape, Straight Isolation Tweezer and L Shape Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHAT MAKES IT HAPPEN? Ever done a set of lash extensions and then found out that some extensions are sticking to the the other lashes? That's what we call "lash stickies," and they can make your client feel uncomfortable. So why do lash stickies happen in the first place? Here are some common factors that contribute to this issue: Volume Lashes, Lash Adhesive Sample, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Incredible Retention Primer, Lash Tape, and L Shape Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Slower Dry Time If you're working with an adhesive that has a slower drying time, there's a higher chances of lashes sticking together during the application. Ensuring that you're using an adhesive with an appropriate drying speed can help prevent this problem.   Low Humidity Humidity levels play a crucial role in lash extension applications. In environments with low humidity, the adhesive might not cure as expected, leading to lash stickies. Maintaining optimal humidity levels in your workspace is essential. Working on One Eye at a Time Focusing on one eye at a time might seem like an efficient approach, but it can contribute to lash stickies. As you work on one eye, the adhesive on the lashes of the other eye can continue to cure, increasing the chances of lashes sticking together. To ensure a seamless lash extension application process, consider implementing these preventive measures:   Proper Isolation Thoroughly isolate each natural lash before applying the extension. This step is crucial to prevent lashes from sticking together. Take your time and double-check your isolation work.   Appropriate Adhesive Amount Avoid using excessive adhesive. Applying too much adhesive can lead to stickies. Apply an appropriate amount to ensure a secure bond without excess glue. Adhesive Dry Time Allow the adhesive to dry properly before moving on to the next lash. This will minimize the risk of lashes adhering to each other. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for drying time.   These images illustrates a lash application mistake known as "stickies," resulting from inadequate isolation. It shows two lash extensions, identified as Lash extension #1 and Lash extension #2, mistakenly glued together. This error underscores the need for precise isolation during the lash extension process to prevent multiple lashes from sticking together, which can lead to discomfort and potential damage to the natural lashes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO PREVENT LASH STICKIES? We all know the feeling—you put on eyelash extensions and they get all sticky and clumped together. It happens a lot, but you don't have to put up with it. Today, we'll talk about simple ways to stop your lashes from sticking together, so they look perfect. Promade Fans, Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Triple-Check Your Work Don't rush; take a moment to double or even triple-check each set. You might find a rogue stickie hiding in there. Remove it carefully with a pair of tweezers or a lash brush.   Mind the Climate Keep an eye on the room’s humidity. If it's too dry, consider using a humidifier to create the perfect adhesive-friendly environment.   Speed Isn't Everything Yes, time is money, but rushing through an appointment increases the risk of stickies. Slow down and let each adhesive drop dry completely before moving on to the next lash. Perfect Your Technique Practice makes perfect. Work on your isolation technique to make sure each natural lash is completely separated before applying an extension.   Right Amount of Adhesive This is a Goldilocks situation—you need just the right amount of adhesive. Too much, and you've got stickies; too little, and the extensions won't hold.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO UNCLUMP LASH EXTENSIONS? If you already have a sticky situation, don't panic. Use a pair of fine-tip tweezers to gently separate the stuck lashes. You can also use a lash brush for minor stickies. Remember, go slow and be gentle. Volume Lashes, Lash Adhesive Sample, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Incredible Retention Primer, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape, Straight Isolation Tweezer and Large Tip Boot Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   PRO TIP: If you find that the extensions are sticking to the bottom lashes, you might need to reposition your under-eye gel patches or tape. Make sure they fully cover the bottom lashes and keep them separate from the top lashes you're working on.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WRAP UP Remember, we're all constantly learning and improving. Understanding Lash Growth Cycles: A Guide For Lash Artists

by Michelle Rebay on Oct 02 2023
As a lash artist, understanding the eyelash growth cycle is essential in providing the best care for your clients. The lifecycle of eyelashes can be fascinating, but more importantly, this knowledge allows you to customize treatments and offer advice on maintenance.  Lash Treatment is used here. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   So, what are these growth cycles all about? Lash Treatment is used here. To shop, please click here.   The Eyelash Growth Cycle Explained The lash growth cycle is a continuous process that includes three main phases. Let's explore each of them:   Anagen (Growth) Phase During this phase, lashes are growing actively. It lasts for about 30 to 45 days. Think of this as the "budding" stage of an eyelash, where it's full of potential and growing every day.   Catagen (Transition) Phase Once the lashes have reached their full length, they enter the Catagen phase. This is a kind of transitional period where the lashes stop growing, and the follicle shrinks. It's a preparation stage for the next phase, lasting around 2 to 3 weeks.   Telogen (Resting) Phase: Finally, the old lash falls out, and a new lash starts to grow from the follicle. This is the natural way the body makes room for new growth. This resting phase typically lasts 3 to 4 weeks before the cycle starts again.   The complete cycle usually takes between 6 to 8 weeks, but it can vary among clients.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO IDENTIFY A CLIENT'S LASH PHASE: ANAGEN, CATAGEN, OR TELOGEN? As a lash artist, understanding the different stages of the lash growth cycle is essential in providing tailored and effective treatments. But how can you identify whether a client's lashes are in the Anagen, Catagen, or Telogen phase? Here's a handy guide. Lashes, Colored Lashes, Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, Breathable Tape and Lash Extension Medical Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Anagen (Growth) Phase Appearance: Lashes in this phase are typically new, thinner, and shorter. Length: Considerably shorter than fully grown lashes. Feel: Soft and flexible to touch. Tip: Observing the beginning stages of growth at the base of the lash line can often indicate the Anagen phase.   Catagen (Transition) Phase Appearance: Lashes in this phase have reached their full length but may look thinner as the follicle begins to shrink. Length: Fully grown but not as robust or thick. Feel: It may feel a little stiffer compared to the Anagen phase. Tip: An isolated lash that appears full-length but weaker may signal the Catagen phase. Telogen (Resting) Phase Appearance: Old lashes ready to shed. Length: Typically full length but may appear dull and lifeless. Feel: Stiffer and more rigid compared to the other phases. Tip: If the lash seems fully grown but appears to be detached or ready to fall out, it's likely in the Telogen phase.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT FOR A LASH ARTIST? Understanding the lash growth cycle helps you, as a lash artist, to: Tailor treatments according to the growth cycles of your client's lashes. Provide guidance on how to care for lashes at home, especially during different phases. Help clients understand why regular maintenance appointments are necessary. Offer services like lash extensions or lash lifts with full knowledge of how it affects natural lashes. Volume Lashes, Color Lashes,  Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, Bullet Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Silicone Extra Sensitive Tape, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Tips for Lash Artists: Gentle Handling: Always handle anagen lashes with care, using lighter and shorter extensions on them. Educate Clients: Take a few moments to explain the growth cycle to your clients. It fosters trust and showcases your expertise. Promote Regular Maintenance: Encourage clients to keep regular refill appointments, as this will help maintain a full, lush look despite the natural shedding process.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION  The eyelash growth cycle is a fascinating and essential aspect of a lash artist's work. Recognizing the stages of growth and how they interact allows for a personalized approach to treatments and ensures the best possible care for your clients.   So, next time you work on a client's lashes, you'll know exactly what stage they are in and how to provide the care and creativity that captures the natural beauty of the eyes. After all, lashes aren't just about aesthetics; they tell a story of growth, transformation, and renewal.     We hope you've enjoyed reading this blog! Lash Lift vs Lash Extensions: Pros, Cons, and Considerations

by Michelle Rebay on Sep 24 2023
When it comes to enhancing our client's natural lashes, two popular options stand out: Lash Lifts and Lash Extensions. If you’re a new lash artist, you need to understand that choosing the proper treatment can be confusing. In this blog post, we'll break down the pros, cons, and essential considerations for both Lash Lifts and Lash Extensions, helping you and your clients make an informed decision to achieve their dream lash look.   *To shop for lash and brow lift products, please click here. *Lash Extensions: Promade Organized Fans, Lash Wisps, Bullet Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Moreover, we'll shed light on essential considerations before getting either of these treatments. From the health of your clients natural lashes to maintenance requirements and potential allergic reactions, taking these factors into account is crucial for ensuring optimal results and a pleasant experience.   LASH LIFT: A NATURAL BEAUTY ENHANCER If your client ever wished for naturally curly and lifted lashes without using lash extensions or curlers, then they’re in for a treat! A lash lift is a fantastic beauty treatment that can give your client’s own lashes a gorgeous, eye-opening curl. During a lash lift, a gentle solution is applied to the natural lashes to make them lift up and curl beautifully. It's like giving the lashes a mini makeover, making them look longer and more defined. The best part is that it's all-natural, using the own lashes without adding anything fake. Lash & Brow Lift Kit, Rainbow Lash Lift Rods, and Purple Lash Lift Tool are used in this set. To shop, please click here.     Pros: Natural Look: A Lash Lift is perfect for those who desire a more natural appearance. It enhances the existing lashes by lifting and curling them, making the eyes appear more open and awake. Low Maintenance: Unlike extensions, a Lash Lift doesn't require regular touch-ups. Once your client gets a lift, they can enjoy beautiful lashes for weeks without the need for any extra effort. Time-Saving: The treatment usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour, which means your client can fit it easily into your busy schedule. No Damage: Lash Lifts are gentle on the natural lashes. There's no harsh glue or adhesive involved, reducing the risk of damage or breakage. Lash & Brow Lift Kit, Rainbow Lash Lift Rods, Purple Lash Lift Tool and Lash lift Ribbons are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Cons: Limited Length and Volume: Lash Lifts primarily work with the natural lashes, so the results might not be as dramatic as extensions if your client desire added length and volume. Temporary Results: While the effects can last up to 6-8 weeks, a Lash Lift is not a permanent solution.   Ready to become lash lift certified in 6 weeks? Click here to sign up! Need more time? Download our free lash lift ebook (scroll down after clicking).   LASH EXTENSIONS: GLAMOROUS AND CUSTOMIZABLE Eyelash extensions are a cosmetic beauty treatment where individual lashes (mink, faux mink, silk or synthetic) are applied to clients' natural lashes using a special adhesive. These lashes come in various lengths, thicknesses, and curls to create different looks. The extensions are carefully attached one by one, adding length and volume to the natural lashes, resulting in a fuller and more dramatic appearance. Promade Loose Fans, Colored Promade Fans, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Pros: Customizable Looks: With Lash Extensions, anyone can have the freedom to choose the length, curl, and thickness of their lashes, allowing for a more personalized and glamorous look. Dramatic Results: If your client desire full, long lashes, extensions are the way to go. They can create a stunning, bold appearance that enhances their overall beauty. Long-Lasting: Lash Extensions can maintain their beauty for several weeks, with proper care and regular touch-ups.   Cons: Maintenance: Extensions require regular fills every 2-4 weeks to maintain their fullness, which can be time-consuming and an added expense. Risk of Damage: Incorrect application or neglecting aftercare can lead to damage to the natural lashes. Allergic Reactions: Some individuals may be sensitive to the adhesive used in lash extensions, leading to redness or irritation.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   REMEMBER Deciding between a lash lift and lash extensions boils down to the look your client desires. If they prefer a natural appearance with a little enhancement, a lash lift will be a perfect fit. On the other hand, if they crave a bold and dramatic look, lash extensions are the way to go. Consider your client's desired outcome and choose accordingly to achieve the ideal lash style. Mega Lash Box, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONSIDERATIONS Before getting a lash lift or lash extensions, there are several important considerations to keep in mind to ensure the best possible results and experience. Promade Fans, Neon Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Budget Lash Lifts are generally more affordable than Lash Extensions, but it's essential to consider the long-term costs of maintaining extensions.   Time Commitment If someone has a busy schedule, a Lash Lift might be a better option due to its shorter treatment time and less frequent touch-ups. Desired Look Consider the level of drama your client want to achieve. If they prefer a natural, subtle enhancement, a Lash Lift may be the ideal choice. For a more glamorous, bold appearance, extensions are the go-to option. Lash Health Assess the current condition of your client's natural lashes. If they are weak or damaged, a Lash Lift might be a gentler choice, as extensions could further stress the lashes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION As lash artists, we believe that both lash lifts and lash extensions have their unique advantages and cater to different preferences. It's crucial to weigh the pros and cons carefully, considering your client's lifestyle, desired look, and natural lash health. Whether they opt for the natural charm of a lash lift or the drama of eyelash extensions, both treatments can enhance their beauty and make the eyes stand out in the most captivating way.   Looking to master lash lift techniques and get certified in 6 weeks? Lash Health Matters: The Importance of Proper Lash Extension Application

by Michelle Rebay on Sep 17 2023
As a lash artist, your client's satisfaction and safety should be your top priorities. Understanding the correct lash application process and promoting lash health is crucial for building a loyal clientele and ensuring the longevity of their natural lashes.  Why is lash isolation important? What is the importance of lash placement? Today, we'll discuss a crucial aspect of lash extensions that often goes overlooked – lash health. As lash artists, it's essential to prioritize the well-being of our client's natural lashes through proper application techniques. As a lash artist, it's essential to educate yourself and your clients about lash health. Natural lashes need proper care and attention to thrive. Encourage your clients to adopt good lash care habits, such as avoiding excessive rubbing, using oil-free makeup removers, and refraining from pulling or tugging on their extensions. Improper lash extension application can cause damage to these natural lashes, leading to issues like breakage, thinning, and even loss. Lash Treatment, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Incredible Retention Primer and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   QUALITY OVER QUANTITY When it comes to lash extension applications, prioritize quality over the number of extensions. Each lash extension must be applied with precision and care, ensuring they are correctly positioned and aligned with the natural lashes. Avoid overloading the natural lashes with heavy extensions, as it can lead to strain and premature shedding.    Premade Lash Fans, Promade Lash Fans, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Incredible Retention Primer, Lash Extension Medical Tape, L Shape Tweezer and Large Tip Boot Lash Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   TIP: In the world of lash extensions, more isn't always better. Emphasize to your clients that choosing quality lash extensions is far more important than seeking a dramatic, heavy look. High-quality lashes not only look more natural but also have a lesser risk of causing damage to the natural lashes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CHOOSING THE RIGHT LASH EXTENSIONS Helping your clients select the right lash extensions can make a significant difference in their overall experience. Always have a variety of lash lengths, curls, and thicknesses in stock to cater to individual preferences.   Promade Organized Fans, Lash Wisps, Bullet Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. Take the time to communicate openly with your clients and understand their expectations. Conduct a thorough consultation before the application process to discuss any allergies, sensitivities, or specific concerns they may have. Tailoring your services to their needs will enhance their satisfaction and ensure the safety of their lashes. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   THE DANGERS OF IMPROPER APPLICATION Educating your clients about the potential dangers of improper lash extension application is essential for their well-being.   Lash Damage caused by heavy or improper extensions: Excessive weight from heavy extensions can strain and weaken natural lashes, leading to breakage and thinning.   Eye Irritation from extensions placed too close to the lash line: Improperly placed extensions can irritate the delicate skin around the eyes, causing redness and discomfort.   Allergic Reactions due to low-quality adhesives or improper techniques: Low-quality adhesives can trigger allergic reactions, which can be painful and may require immediate removal of the extensions.   Premature Shedding of both extensions and natural lashes: Improperly applied lashes are more likely to fall off prematurely, leading to an inconsistent and unsatisfactory look.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   FINAL THOUGHTS Lash health is a topic of utmost importance for both lash artists and their clients. The significance of proper lash extension application cannot be overstated. As lash artists, our commitment to quality over quantity and understanding our client's needs sets the stage for a positive and rewarding experience.  By choosing high-quality lash extensions and practicing proper techniques, we not only enhance the beauty of our client's eyes but also prioritize their lash health. Educating clients about the potential dangers of improper application empowers them to make informed decisions and take active steps towards maintaining healthy, thriving natural lashes.
